  1. Can anyone give me a little info on their idea of the best light schedule as need seedlings emerge from the soil? I’ve heard 24 is best but also 18/6? What makes one better than another? I’m waiting on seeds and a new light I just bought (amazon). Planning to grow in FFOF soil. I also bought happy frog as well. I’ve grown twice before but royally fucked them up and I refuse to fail this time!

  2. 24hour light schedule provides more energy for the plant to grow (more suited to autoflowers) but i believe from my experience this is fine with any setup untill you're ready to flip them to 12/12 for flower.

  3. What I do is put germinated seeds in soil under 24 hour light until they break ground. They then get 1-2 more days at 24 (usually 1) then they get 18/6 from then to flower. The first 24 is to sorta kickstart them. (at least in my head).

  4. What size grow tent do you recommend for 3-4 plants max? I’ve heard a tent isn’t necessary but is super helpful to help heat/humidity fluctuations. Also to keep light in whenever you need total darkness.

  5. I have a 4x4 tent with 4 in it. But I've seen 2x3's, 3x3's .

  6. Would you mind linking your tent? I have two in my amazon cart with good reviews but they also have negative reviews as well. Can’t make everyone happy I guess. I’d just rather ask someone on here

  7. I have the MarsHydro 4x4 tent. Got it on Amazon, can't figure out how to link, hehe. I have to search amazon for marshydro tent, it only shows me the 2x2 , you have to select the 4x4 size from the options. The 4x4 is 179.99. I got Marshydro because : same material as $$$ tents(gorilla grow equiv. is like $369), good reviews. I am more than happy, it's a lot heavier than I expected, I'd recommend two people to put it together.

  9. That’s one I have in my cart! They seem to be a little more expensive than the other options. I’m just not sure what size to get...I feel like they might get too talk for a few of them I’ve picked out

  10. Yep, that's one thing I considered, but I couldn't see paying double+ for anything taller. I figured this way 70" is 6 feet (close enough) minus 1 foot for light (mine needs 12" from top of tent) minus 2 feet between light and canopy gives me basically 3-31/2 feet of actual height of my plants. So I need to flip to 12/12 when they are about 2 feet tall, and even then that's cutting it kinda close.

  13. Tomato, tomato, it doesn’t really matter. Start them in the happy frog, then transplant to ocean forest later. It is a bit hot for seedling. As far as light schedule, they will do fine either way. In my opinion, you lose the advantage of a longer light cycle at around 20/4 but running the light 24 hours a day during veg won’t hurt anything either. 18/6 will be cheaper on your power bill, and having a dark cycle makes some people feel better, but cannabis is a c3 plant and does not “need” a dark cycle during veg.

If you haven’t already check out the first time growers section here at gc. There is a lot of great info and most questions you will have during the process have already been addressed.
