  1. Hey all,
I started about a week and a half ago and so far am pretty pleased with the progress.

    I have a few questions:

    1. ) When it is about to storm, should I move the plants to shelter them from the high winds and powerful rain? I am afraid they are going to die if i expose them to some of the violent summer storms we have around here.

    2. ) I think I made a mistake by planting many in one cup.

How much longer before i transplant the best of those plants into their own individual pots? I planted a week and a half ago and they're already getting pretty big.

    3. ) Later on, should i destroy the males? Do males produce bud with seeds, or just seeds in general? Would i yield more smokable material if i harvest both the males and females?

    4. ) As I said earlier, they are almost two weeks old. When should i expect to harvest and is it preferable to plant directly in the ground or in pots? I was thinking of putting some directly in ground and some in pots...is this a good idea?

Here are a few more pics to help you answer.

  2. Kill-Da-Males.

Should be 1 to a cup. Gently get them into single pots or
the ground. Mj is pretty tough. A little protection till they
take hold is a good idea.

    Kill-Da-Males.

If they are outside then the seasonal change where
you live will determine when they flower.

    Kill-Da-Males.

  3. yeah, if it's raining very hard i would move them into a more sheltered location...gl!:hello:

  4. kill the males unless you're wanting to make some hybrids. but, i'm sure all the seeds your using are of the same kind, so yeah, just kill them.

  5. its better to transplant before the roots grow more and it will be a real problem to seperate them. slide the root ball out and slowly break the soil to seperate the roots and plant in individual pots

  6. you should transplant them to there own cup asap or before you know it you have 3 1ft tall plants in the same pot that you have to transplant and 1 dies and 1 barly makes it

this happened to me cuz I was too lazy to transplant them and now I paid for it

  7. i always leave mine out in the storms. it toughens em up.

    KILL THE MALES!!!

  8. yeah def. kill the males dude

  9. Kill the males, fo sho. Shoot dem mofo's up wit sum ak's or sum shit bro.

Nawh, but all gangster jokes aside, rip those pesky little fuckers out before they start hitting on your females.

And I always leave my sprout outside in the storms. Its surprising how much it can withstand.

  10. Update-
June 4: Transplanted 8 from the most crowded cup. 3 went into individual large pots, and three went together into a much larger pot. Additionally, 2 were planted in the ground in a small garden.

I have 10 sprouts in red cups.

    Update: June 8

Transplanted plants such that 6 are in large pots individually. There are still 3 plants in the much smaller pots, and a total of 4 in red cups.

We also dug the places for the plants in the garden wider and deeper and made a larger area of potting soil where we replaced the 2 garden plants.

    QUESTIONS:
-How much water should I give to the plants in large pots?
    - About how many weeks in should I be able to tell whether they are male or female?
    - For the remaining 3 plants in smaller pots: should i transplant them to larger pots or the garden? Or will they be alright in the smaller pots?

Thank you, help is much appreciated.

    Looks cherry!

    Couple of thoughts;

All them pots have a hole in the bottom?
    drainage.

The little plastic cups will allow the root area to get too
warm in direct sunlight. Not too warm to grow but don't
be surprised if those end up male.

How much water depends on the Hu and temps where you are.
Time till sexed will depend on the strain a lot.
The smaller clay pots I'd leave till sexed at least.

  16. looks nice man

  17. Many of the people on here said to kill the males. I personally kill my males AFTER i get a pollen sample. Which you can read about doing in right here http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-beginners/261251-produce-small-amount-seed.html#post2887352 ( by cantharis)

This way i get seeds for next years grow but i still have 90% of my plant sinsemilla.

And no, male plant do not produce bud, they just grow pollen sacks. And what most people dont reealize about when female plants get pollenated is that the plant stops producing THC and focuses on producing seeds, so eliminating the pollen with result in the plant producing more THC for a more potent, better smoking bud.

  18. How are these coming along?

  19. yeah how are these babies coming?

  20. So far they look great, I'll post more pictures of them all as soon as I transplant the last few from red cups.
