New grower, indoor autoflower grow.

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Saucyjacky, Aug 15, 2019.

  1. I'm currently gathering all the items I need to start an indoor autoflower grow. I purchased 7 amnesia haze autoflower seeds from crop king seeds, 3 gallon pots, (2) 300 watt led lights, intake outtake fans and a grow room set up. I have grown photoperiods before when i was younger. But, those were outdoors and i literally just left them alone for the summer. My questions are, 1) can(should) i germinate my seeds then put them in a coco medium and then transplant them into a medium made up of 30%coco 10%perlite and 60% fox farm ocean forest? Or should i stick with growing in perlite and coco medium with added nutrients? I have a hydro store near by and a couple hundred dollars to use (u.s.$). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm just looking to do it the right way before i waste a ton of money, time and heart in this.

  2. It's the age old debate. Choose your side. My side sows the auto seed directly in the container it will spend it's whole life in. And we have all kinds of reasons, none of which have been scientifically proven to be better than the other side, which transplants. And they have their reasons too I suppose, if you can't figure out how to grow a little plant in a big pot. But they are all really nice guys, so maybe they have a reason they will post.
I grow in just perlite, so I can't help you with the other unneccessary items I use to use (like soil and coco.)

  3. It's really up to you but coco and perlite works well as long as you get the nutrients right. Both ways will work just fine though

I find this way the best way to start seeds....Germinating Seeds The Easy Way

  4. Me too.

Of course it's ultimately up to you.....but if you "know how" to grow in a coco/perlite combo I say you go that route.

  5. Rapid Rooters are hard to beat for germination. They can be transplanted with sprouts into any final destination.
Some LED makers try to hide true power from us. What is the true power for yours?
What are the dimensions of your grow space?
True power and canopy area dictate yield.

  6. Im growing in a closet I lined with reflective material. I'm using 2 Giixer 600w leds. But I'm not sure of the true wattage, which is why i bought 2. I got the seedlings going. Now I'm just debating whether to go straight coco/perlite/nutes or fox farm soil.
