Tin foil is not the best material... I think it's electrically conductive, causes "hot spots" and has a few other detractors... And 1000w for <10sq ft is maybe over kill... Is it a dimmable ballast and do you vent the heat or cool the space some how?
Replace the foil with white paint, radiant heat barrier or Mylar sheeting. The nice thing about the heat barrier it also insulated the grow area along with being reflective. The 1000 watt light might be too powerful in that size grow. It will work but you will have more heat produced from the light and it may not yield much more than a 600 watt light.
I use a fan to cool the space it must be 65 ish degrees. It gets a lot cooler in the morning, and this morning my plants were kind of wilty. But it gets so cool in the morning to the point where I can look in the room without hurting my eyes. But by afternoon or night forget it you need some sun glasses to go in there or you will get a headache and eye floating for a good half hour Sent from my SPH-L720T using Grasscity Forum mobile app
