  1. I need to purchase first chance I get an RO for the water treatment. When I purchased the PH tester I was lucky to make the choice in getting the TDS & EC meter with it. I just tested the water that i was using to fresh the cubes currently:
    EC - 157 - US/CM - 20.6c
    78 - PPM - 69.0.

After reading your reply I opened the bucket to check the roots, and currently none visible.
As per your advise I'll hold off nutrients feeding.
    Uploading documented images and vids.

Khole looks like she's thriving and Margaret looks like she ain't going down without a fight and starting to come back swinging.

  2. Posting my logs for the day.
    No roots yet.
Margaret looks like she's seriously making a come back, leaf's are starting to grown on her, and she looks like she's trying. Today's been a tough day as temps have been fighting me today. Most likely cause it's gotten so much colder outside. I've been holding steady between 70 - 73. Trying to bring it at least 74-77, just so I stay somewhat calibrated don't want to dip into the 60's and I def don't want to shoot up into the 80's.

Nothing much to report. Gonna do a clean batch of ph water for the feeding for tomorrow. Been providing the same amount once a day 20ml. 10ml to the root of the plant to the cube, and 10ml spread around the cube.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

  3. Check up on the girls.
They are looking fab, no roots yet and I'm still battling these crazy temp fluctuations lol no biggie.

  4. These temps driving me up the wall lol, need to start figuring out how to monitor it somehow. Gonna put together a pi and see if it helps keep an eye.

  5. Wyze camera is $30 on Amazon. With that you can watch your environment anytime anywhere.

I used to strategically position my camera to monitor room temp gauge, humidity gauge, res temp gauge and my res level gauge. If you were to buy individual wifi or Bluetooth gauges to monitor each of these independently, it would cost hundreds. So this will always be the most cost effective option for me.

Another great trick is a $5 smart receptacle. This allows you to turn something on or off as needed.

So you could check your camera... see that you humidity is too high and use this smart receptacle to shut it off for a while. Same with a space heater or exhaust fan or really anything controlling your environment.

It’s definitely not a top of the line option, but it’ll allow you to control your grow remotely from your smart phone for like $60

  6. Well I didn't get a chance to read this post till now lol.
I'm kinda shocked you asked me to buy a camera after my last post showing already me owning the pi.
In terms of the receptacle that sounds like one of the steps I'm gonna be taking.

Well I was able to get the pi configured, and I used double sided tape to hold it on the outside of the tent.
I used a piece of cardboard box to make a makeshift case for the camera module. Like you I also pointed toward the meter, and then I just setup the pi with a persistent IP on the network so the moment it turns on and connects to the wifi. I can ssh. As time goes on I'm gonna see the different things that I went through with the grow, and make a list of the the ones I want to automate.

Can't wait for that part lol, didn't check the roots today was a bit busy. Still maintained the 20ml feeding of water, just moved it further down in the afternoon. Last feeding was 5pm.

  7. Quick status update.
Plants are holding amazing, and growing at a very noticeable rate.
I checked on roots, looks like Khole has about 2-3 roots sticking from the boom.
I haven't stop feeding the plants the 20ml of water I've been using to keep the cube fresh, to avoid the cube from drying out early.

But I believe that time is coming quick for Khole for me to stop feeding. Just waiting on the roots to get in on the action better. I have been pushing back the feeding time for the 20ml first I started at 4pm, and kept pushing it till 5:30 today I'll do it at 6:00 and soon Khole will have to feed from the bucket.

Margaret looks like she's for sure coming back strong.
Currently watching as many vids as I can from Kyle Kushman on training.

  8. Captain's log lol....

I checked on Khole today, and me and the wifey were surprise to see more roots!!.
Now that I see more roots on the water, i've come to the conclusion tonight might be the last night I manually feed the cube the 20ml of water for Khole that is.

Margaret seems to be doing a lot better. The main stem seems to be turning greener as she continues to grow.
I took some shots of her to show her progress as well. Hopefully I'm making the right choice about Khole.

  10. That’s some nice root porn! Well done

If those are photoperiod plants and you plan on topping, now is probably a good time. If these are autoflowers then you may have missed your opportunity.

  11. Hey!,
    Thank you!

As per ILGMJ.com the Gorilla Glue seeds are autoflower.
I read online it's okay for me to top them, so long as I do before they start producing flower.
At the moment, technically speaking I haven't started the veg cycle as I'm starting that feeding this Monday.
    For Khole that is.

I was planning on topping them once but, I was going to wait a bit longer as I'm planning on giving it and extra week or so of veg and flower. The tent is pretty big and account for the 2ft distance I can still go up another 4-5ft.
Not saying the plant will grow that high, just advising of the opportunity I guess.

So you don't think that topping Khole moving forward, would be a good idea with the potential to hurting her?
I'll do more re-search online before topping Khole, at the moment I'm doing my studies through Kyle Kushman vids on topping, fiming, cracking, lst.

  12. Some people say veg starts when the first serrated leaves develop. Other say when the cotyledons shrivel and fall off. Some say it’s when you get new growth from within a node. Either way, you don’t have direct control of when veg starts.

With autoflowers, you don’t have control of when veg ends either. I’ve had autoflowers start the flowering stage as early as day 17. You’re around day 20 I think. This is why I don’t grow autos as much as I used to, because I like to train my plants during veg and let them recover before switching to flower.

I suggest not topping either of these plants. I think you’ll end up doing more harm than good at this point. With autos I top the 3rd or 4th node when it JUST begins to grow. Judging by the photos, you’d be topping the 7th node if you did it now.

There’s other ways to train your plants that cause less stress, like LST for example.

  13. I see what your saying.
I'll use some kite rope which is the only thing I believe I have available to me, and start Khole on LST tonight.

  14. Hey,

    Just a quick updated.
Started lst on Khole, and I also noticed that Margaret has a few roots in the water.
so I'm gonna get brave and stop feeding Margaret manually after today, and see if the roots take off.

  15. Hey,

I could use some advise. As of a few hours ago I finally switched Khole to nutrient based water.
In the process I guess i didn't noticed that I some how added more water than I did before.

Now I'm not sure if this is what's happening, but based on the pictures and some of the information I found online.
I could have overwatered the roots.

As of 35mins ago, I removed enough water that it's now barely covering the first square of the netpod on the bottom.
I also increase the air pump to 100% from 95.

I added some before and after picture after a few hours of drowning, by a few I mean 2 hrs tops as I was monitoring the camera as it was happening.
Just want to confirm the removal of the water is enough to help me save her, or should I remove more water.
I'm also adding pictures of the roots, and Margaret.

  16. Cranking the air pump to max is a good move. I don’t think you can over water roots with DWC. plants look a little droopy but it’s late and they’re getting ready for bed. My guess is they’ll perk up in the morning.

If not, check your PH. Calibrate your PH meter and check again.

Overall the plants look great and the roots look great so you’ve got nothing to worry about. Some very minor yellowing happening on the mature leaves so giving them a little nutrients now is a good thing

  17. Status update on the girls.
    These are from yesterday.
In a few I should be posting today's.

    Khole making that come back.
Learning real quick the slight yellowing in the leafs of Margaret.
I have started Margaret on nutrients yet.
Gonna see about getting her going this Monday to maintain at least the same day for when I'm changing the water.

  18. Hey,

Been a couple of day, needed to make sure I come and get the updates going.
Today I'm changing the res water for Khole since she's had the same water for a week today.

Margaret is about to be flipped for Nutrients today, she's developed a nice set of root.
I have to confirm, but they could be lacking a bit of cal mag causing the coloring a bit.

    Gonna check online and confirm.
