  1. About 24h ago planted 6(hope they all fit?) new clones into roots organic soil and 1 gallon pots for first week, plan on xfering to 5 gallon 2 weeks from now, I havnt decided if i want to continue with the roots, or go with some FFOC. Set up is 400watt air cooled, 4x4x7 tent. Here are a few pics of what it should look like once screen is set up, im thinking of 10-12 inches above soil lvl?

and the new girls...Most of clones ive purchased have not been this hearty..the roots looked alot nicer on these than the past ones.

Hope i can do this correct, any help would be appreciated!

  2. Never got a chance on growing a scrog setup, but im definalty interested.

    im subbed to see progress

    good luck man

  3. Roots Organic is a far better soil blend than FFOF. Do expect to have to feed though, it runs cold after about a month...

I'm currently using their bottled line for this run while my super soil cooks and I've had fantastic results.

  4. Thanks ice!!! i will need the luck probably lol

Thats good news Kesey, glad I picked a proper soil this time (first grow was organic from homedepo lolol). I have also read that it will need nutes after 1 month, have prepared for that already

    Advanced Nutrients Sensi Line=Sensi Grow 2 part(3.7-0-0) + (2.5-2.2-5.7), sensi bloom 2 part4.3-0-3.1) + (1.5-6.1-5.7), sensizyme-budblood(0-39-25)-carboload,voodoo juice,overdrive(1-5-4),b-52 (2-1-4)-final phase (flush)

Had good results in my initial test run of lemon haze, and sour D, slight burn in the end, but i think it was more PH, but 1 gallon pots yielded 35g per a plant with 0 training, no topping, just planted and let go lol. I just wanted to make sure i didnt kill them. didnt care about yield.

  5. nice set up hope it turns out nice :bongin:

  6. I used AN my very first grow, yielded well, had one 4 ounce chemmy jones in a 5 gallon pot. If you want me to save ya some money and increase your quality, I'll show you some alternatives;

Drop Budblood, its usless in my opinion, my plants show sex in under 72 Hours and nugs start in a week after the flip. Pre-feeding your flower nutes a week early prior to the flip will do what you're looking for (Be sure to add a veg amount of nitrogen though!)

Drop the carboload, its just molasses. And in all honesty, you don't wanna use molasses in mid-later flower, its creates a higher bacteria count (That is desirable in veg) where as we're looking for a higher fungal count..

Replace voodoo juice with GreatWhite and find another mycorizhal product with high glomus intraradices count (I've found that Mykos granulated from Xtreme Gardening has the highest count). The greatwhite and mykos together is going to cost you about $40, coat your trasplant hole when transplanting and feed greatwhite every other feed in veg and end in week 4 of flower.

Replace overdrive with HPK from Roots Organics, its about $30 cheaper and its a much better booster, gotta love guanos

Drop b52, no idea what the point of that is. The whole idea behind b1 reducing stress is still up for debate, and it would really only be worth using around transplants, if it actually worked of course

Drop final flush. Flush with plain water; for a 5 gallon pot my process would be flushing 3 weeks early with 10 gallons. Watering normal the next 2 water, then flushing with 10 gallons. Watering normal once more, then flushing for the last time with 10 gallons.

Work towards an organic soil and less bottled nutes and that urkle will taste so good you'll wanna slap ya momma :smoke:

    Best of luck brother!

  7. Wrote all that down will def look into all of that, it is my main goal by grow 4 to have it 100%. i was limited to about 250$ for this grow, so couldnt throw to much at new nutes, i did buy the smallest bottles of each incase a switch was needed down the line., and i like to tinker so im sure eventually i will with this.

How often should i be watering these, i added a tad when i planted, and just splash on the very outer of the pots about an hour ago. Some say once in a week for the first week?

  8. I have a more hands approach to feeding, and after your first run with a strain it gets much easier, but pretty much I try not to feed at all until week 2, starting at a half dose, then slowly work my way up. This all depends though on the plant...if she's lush and green, no point in over-feeding. It takes a keen eye to recognize the deficiencies before they become a problem, theres alot of good resources on the net that detail each cannabis deficiency, read 'em all.

Drenching the soil is more than adequate, its never a good idea to expose roots to light outside of transplanting.

  9. Right, thats what i was doing before, i dont think i ever gave them what was on the side of the bottle lol.

Are yuo saying to drench the soil when planting the clones into soil...i planted them in green light to avoid any light, but did not use a ton of water. Barely any runoff, this is my first time planting clones as well, just dont want the root to ball up.

  10. I just cut clones a couple weeks ago, allow me to detail my process:

    1. MY clones that are going in MY room ALWAYS get cut from tops, far better success rate. Look for ones at least 2cm wide. Cut it after the 3rd node from the top. I bring my tray into the clone room with so I can go directly from cut-to hormone-to tray, reducing the time oxygen can enter the cut is ideal.

    2. Trim off nodes 2 and 3, then SLIGHTLY score the a good inch of the bottom of cut, insuring that you include the 3rd nodes 'trim spot'. Dip the cut in hormone past where you scored lightly with a clean, sterilized razor blade. No such thing as too much hormone, glob it up!

    3. Now I even go as far as to use a toothpick for each clone to keep 'em steady, I just cant imagine swaying around and bending over helps roots make contact faster.

    4. Add water to your tray, set the tray on your heating mat, mist the clones and the mist the inside of the dome, set the dome on and walk away :)

    5. Mist daily, at least twice a day. Be aware of mold, at night I take my dome off and fan em for 5-10 minutes to kind of give em a break, humidity will go right back up anyways but at least theres fresh air exchange.

    6. After 7-10 Days, I transplant with signs of roots or not...if I can pick up the cube and the clone doesn't fall out, we can only assume its rooted right ;). I transplant to a solo cup with a soil mixture consisting of promix BX, ewc, and par boiled rice hulls (Perlite alternative). Upon transplanting, I coat the transplant hole with a few various mycorizhal products and give it a top layer to get watered in.

    7. Now she's transplanted so she's gotta be thirsty...water 'em good, I prefer a small amount of run off the first watering, after that I aim for 'enough'.

    8. I leave em in the solo cups for another 7-10 Days, then I make a transplant to their veg containers and let their journey begin :)

I've kept my light on through this whole process now, 3-6 in. away but the closer the better, once they're in the solo cups and getting their legs, I add a small personal fan to em that runs constantly.

Btw, 'soil drench' shouldnt be taken literally as to 'drench' your soil. Its the 'horticulturist' term for feeding liquids from a cup, lol. To define the difference between other feeding methods, top-dressing etc.

  11. Ok, sounds like im on the right track, i purchased the clones from the club...planted them (next time will try this coating method) and watered tell a slight run off.

They look good after 48h in 1 gallon pots, the leaves are so damn big i cant tell if the sag is from weight or water need. but nothing is yellowing as of yet

i have a fan blowing on them oscillating at all times as well.

  12. Just got back from hydro store with new ph tester, and wow was i messing up, got a new ph tester old one musta been trash (ebay) PH was like 9.......

    Whew!!!

  13. watered about 250ml each with Ph balanced water this time, ph was good in runoff as well, only 1 is showing very slight yellowing, i can barely see it, could be shock

  14. I don't say this often because I don't wanna hear the nag...but I balance the ph of my soil with dolomite lime and thats about it...havent used a meter in months. Though I will admit my bottles nutes are Roots Organic so..

You can always foliar feed very lightly if your clones start to go south, light kelp extract and CaMg will usually perk 'em right up. Be sure to raise your CFL's a couple feet for an hour or two after you spray to avoid burn

  15. I foiler fed the first night cause im a paranoid nut job

    no CFL

running 400 watt MH/ HPS with switchable ballast at 100 percent 24 inches above them first week, to not stress i guess? then i figured id try to get it 16 inches-18

  16. Hey man I'm all for maxing out lighting, I veg under 1k, 'pros' on here told me plants would surely die blah blah blah, they didn't...my first run with seedlings went straight under a 1k when they were about 2 inches tall in 5 gallon pots...they blew up, had a 4 ounce, 4 ft. tall plant - rest were around 2.5-3 oz's and same height on my first indoor grow

If it works for you, then do it! Sorry if the above was as much bragging as it was informative...just wanted you to see why its best to do whats best for you...not what someone recommends (Thats means my advice too!) :smoke:

You're going about it in the right way in keeping a safe distance. Invest some more money in ventilation and climate control and you can keep em even closer

    ^ no joke

when talking about hydro, i once had a "pro" tell me "you HAVE to have a water chiller or you can't grow"

i told him, "don't tell my plants that they shouldn't be doing just fine like they are"

then it turns out i see his grow and.......yeah...don't know why i even tried correcting the guy, just let them think they know what they're talking about, the proof will be in the garden itself

it helps to keep an open mind i guess and not be so "you HAVE to do x or you can't do x"

meh, but that's another story...very nice scrog setup here! i can't wait to see that screen get filled out

  18. Thanks guys, always takes a little stress off with good wisdom lol

I think I have overdone the venting the hood (6inch inlet 8 inch outlet fans), i know i could move it down now and keep great temps, i just have all my cash tied up in this (extra cash lol) so i cant risk killing them real young lmao. Also if it hits 80, i just plug the inlet right into my central air of the house, takes 5 minutes to cool it to 75 heh

So is the concept im looking for this

I have 180 2x3 holes in my screen..i should be trying to get a bud site in every screen hole? So probably 30 sites or more per a plant. Just seems like a ton of bud sites hah...

  19. Your money might be tied, but its an investment, support your investment with hard work and it'll pay off. Awesome ventilation setup, no such thing as overkill, I use 2 6'' inlines for 3 hoods in my flower room and an 8'' intake, 6'' exhaust and 6'' intake in my veg. Your improvisation with the centrail air is smooth as fuck, try cooling it down at night by leaving in the inlet connected. Cannabis LOVES cooler night temperatures and it'll also help you room stay cooler, longer when the lights come on (As well as help with humidity, I've found my garden to be most susceptible to humidity problems at night, especially since I can't go check on 'em).

Seems like a lot of bud sites, but its not. You can totally do that man, especially with FIM. Instead of topping, only cut about 70% of the new growth, she should fill up your screen pretty quick. Don't get upset though if you cant quite hit every screen, might even be a better approach to at first start filling every other space to ensure that you get good spacing, then as more tops start coming in you could fill appropriately? I'm growing vicariously through your scrog, if yours ends well I plan to make an 8' x 16' table, don't let me down haha:smoke:

  20. sounds great, i was planning on doing some fim/topping about day 25, so only FIM?

Dropped the lights about 4 inches tonight, temps havnt moved after an hour still hovering around 75-76

That is a great idea to start off every 2 holes, then let them come onto the others. Thanks!
