Hey this is my first grow operation so want to do the proper planning! I have a 4x8 gorilla grow shorty tent (5’8”) and two chilled tech grow craft 600w x6 LED. I’m looking to grow 8 plants in my flower room and want to set up a second 4x4 veg tent. Soil grow, going to supplement co2 and control with digital atmosphere controller. Was wondering if I will have enough space in 4x4 to veg 8 plants for 3-4 week. And any recommendations on a light my veg tent? Thinking a 300w LED with good coverage would work for me! Best light for veg specific or just get a good full spectrum? Any tips or opinions are appreciated, thanks!!!

  2. Soil or hydro? Starting from seed or clone? From seed I don’t personally see any issue with space. I’ve never done clones so can’t comment to that. Also have only done soil. As far as light if you got a true 300watts of good coverage I’d say you’d be pretty set for veg.

  3. I got a 5x5 flowering tent with 5 kits of the 288 boards for a total of 960 watts. I pulled 3 and 1/4Lbs from the last cut.
In my veg tent, I have 2 of the QB120 boards and a platinum 650w blurple light (650 Bucks) that a friend gave to me when he switched to the LED's like me. That combo works good.
In my clone tent I got a Mars 300 watt blurple in there, and that tent is a 2x2x4
Here is the kits I run on flowering. Half the price of HGL and same stuff.

  4. yes, 4x4 should be perfect for 8 vegging plants. Look for 4000k spectrum for your veg area. Veg tents also make good drying tents.

  5. 8 plants should work just fine in a 4x4. Heck, I start 8 clones in my little 2x2 ;)

  7. Im going to do soil grow, and start from purchased clones first, but eventually germinate my own seeds or take my own clowns.

  8. Do they have any veg spectrums on there? The website was not user friendly.

  9. just listen bro, these bros are no joke, over three pounds, i know you heard but understand that these dude are legit. that's the skinny, go with the 288 setup and you cannot gor wrong.

  10. They do have em' in 3500 -- 4000k but you don't really need em' unless you are dedicating a room to pure veg growing and then moving the plants to a pure flower room.
The 3000K grow very well in Veg. And if you think about it, most of your time will be spent in flowering, not veggin'.
I have a dedicated veg tent with 4 qb120 boards in it along with a Platinum LED P600 that a friend gave BIG bucks for, like 800 or 900 bucks. He never even got kissed with that deal. He now runs same as me, and pulls same as me too. We share clones back and forth.
This light is heavy, has 4 fans on top, was supposed to take the place of 800 watts of HID (yeah right), can barley keep up with 4 QB120 boards hahaha but hey I needed light and it was a freebie.
The side of the tent with the QB's are better than the side with the fancy blurple light.
I'd trade it to a couple of those kits if anyone like this light.

  11. Hey man ya my 4x4 tent will be strictly for veg, thinking about getting 4 qb 120 boards and maybe supplest small blue spec bar light or something for clones and tighter growth

  12. 4000k is all you need for veg. You will have to move plants away from the light just to get them to stretch far enough you can fit a pair of scissors between the nodes. Pure 4000k. I had my veg area mixed with 3500 and 3000 and when I switched to pure 4000k I finally had a pure veg room. You could go on and flower under 4000k in a bind, but it would be less than ideal. You can also veg just fine under 3000k. If I was forced to use just one, it would def be the 3000k all the way through. The difference between the two spectrums is subtle enough that only the grower will enjoy or complain.
