this WAS a big deal over on TC, until the mods got mad that i was insulting sponsors diffies abilities and banned me as well as removing the thread. hoping to find an open community that realizes that just because it exists, doesnt mean it cant be improved. first off, a teaser, i just had a customer call about computers, and gotta go do xmas stuff but heres a few videos(more on the channel, avaliable in hd on channel) to start you guys. the downstem is called a pearl necklace design, as the original started off looking like a pearl necklace of holes. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_kgfF8EFQU&hd=1]YouTube - pearls bluedot morning toke[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2CKeLfV82A&hd=1]YouTube - Pearls downstem[/ame] version 1^^(he goofed on one of the holes... ohwell) and the current version 2. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrOYa8F9YTQ&hd=1]YouTube - pearls 2 downstem dry run[/ame] i then proceeded to break the bluedot, the only tube that fit this stem. temporary replacement. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OJcTxpLPOw&hd=1]YouTube - New beaker to 6 to 6[/ame] v3 is in the works with a new artist, as well as a few other adaptations on circ and tree designs, as well as a new perc of itself ontop of the one ive already made in addition to this stem. all of my designs are based to take advantage of the laws of physics to help you toke better. NOTE: i DO NOT MAKE THESE, i was/will be the engineering behind them, but it would be a long dream and a long reach if i got to blowing these anytime soon. we will see i suppose. ... opinions questions?
I can dig it. It looks sweet. The way all the holes are on the bottom tapering from small to large makes me feel like the holes must all diffuse pretty evenly.
ah, a surprise, support. a surprisingly rare thing to come along. the placement of the holes actually makes a much more key difference than the size although we are experimenting with that as well as some uh... nontraditional gridding techniques. the holes being lined up with the flow of air causes the air to come out of almost every hole, instead of 1 or 2 as seen on common diffies such as the roor.de stem. the SG gridded stem and the SB 22 hole stem so far are the closest 2 competitors, but have not held a torch to the bubbling and stacking ablities of this stem(if you look in the last video, the bubbles actually go UP past the beaker section @ 1:00) this is hopefully aimed to head off the medicinal community that will be forming in arizona shortly, im hoping to introduce better smoother hitting systems for smoking while other ailments occur such as emphysyma, bronchitis, strep, and pneumonia, wthout the worry of that deadly yellow brick of smoke at the end. and of course low prices always please customers, so that is an aim as well. fathead has taken up the design and im looking forward to seeing the design on their shelves, spreading from just an idea in my head to friends tubes to shelfed.
This! The bubble stackage on the stemline is ridiculous even more so with the gridline i really dont think that shit compares its a cool idea i just dont see it diffusing like a stemline.
Please don't compare a diffy with randomly placed holes and all around dirty looking work to anything SG makes just "no" to most of these claims.
dude i have been thinking the same thing since like forever seriously. although never acted upon it i have always notice that not all the holes r used in diffuser. u sir are a genius. i mean its pretty simple but i think its great ur gonna do something bout it
no man its much more than less holes. its like placing the hole in the right place in harmony with how the air flows down the stem. instead of having useless holes around creating drag and unnecessary shit
lol so your saying that the gridded stemline has a bunch of useless holes that create drag? lol. not positive, but if anything, more holes, less drag. what if i wanna tilt my bong. the way those holes are placed you have to leave it standing upright, or else air wont be distributed the same.
The stemline has smaller holes which makes more of a mist, and even though it dosnt use all it's holes it's good for the random bubble or two and for clearing. I am a glassblower and ive been experimenting with downstems and the stemline just can't seem to be beat. Yours is a good idea and hope to see it improved but I just don't think it can match the gridded slits. Keep working on it!
and what if you have a perc? you cant tilt your bong this is what this stem is catered to. its nice that i came back to a forum predivided. the " oh not this shit its useless go pick up an sg" and the "omg i understand physics so i know what the hells going on its amazing!" for the enthused people, feel free to chat me up about the design or whatever im always down to private talk if you dont want ideas on the sites page. this downstem well, blows the idffusing powers of the stemline downstem as well as the roor.de diffy outta the water. cept it takes about 45 seconds to make. the rows of holes are aligned to activate along with the laws of physics, its impossible to pull on this stem and get any less than 11 holes going at once, v2 its usually 13 14. stemline... 6. maybe 8. all the air goes out the top 2 slits and completely skips the rest of the diffy. so yeah the stemline diffy is the best commercial made one, but its still another diffy with randomly placed holes (by the way, next one of these will be gridded as well as using these balancing designs to bubble in a percd waterpipe) and whoever called anything i had a roor... lol. that was a bluedot and a PURE. and you cant, bongs have percs in them else ida picked up an sg 360 diffy or SB. heres some very good pictures someone on glassdistrict did of the roor.de diffy and others that shows what i mean of inneficency in placing holes. http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o215/invert_bucket/dederoor.gif[IMG] and heres the sg grid [IMG]http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o215/invert_bucket/SGGIF.gif i still have to get a pic of v2 milking in s straight sometime(broke it tho...) but heres v1. 6 holes each side, mirrored, all going no problem. you can only imagine what v2 looks like. and indeed we are going for a misty fizzy hit as well, which weve achieved, now i just need a fizzier perc to stack ontop of it for tube series(in the works) and heres a milkshot of v2. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rnd4Gd_V8y0&hd=1]YouTube - another PURE pearls downstem to 6 to 6 arm[/ame] more xmas shit... yay.
