New cop question.

    So I have a new question, just thought about it after I heard a story about my friends friend. Do you have the right to stay in your car, when you get pulled over?

    No they can order you to exit the car, and they can even pat you down. What they can't do without your consent is searching the car unless they have a warrant, or if they bring a dog to sniff your car out (which if a cop threatens to do, dont give into it because most of the time they are just bsing you to search your car).

    If you were to be pulled over for speeding and you pose no threat or susp to the police officer , than he or she has no right to search your car. If he asks you to step out of your car , lock your doors and tell the cop in a calm peaceful manner " I do not consent to any searchs". I dont know about just chilling and not going out of your car. be careful tho , police are trained to make you break. Do not give into any searchs , and always remain calm and be polite. of course depending on the situation it could go different ( if you were toking a joint and they saw you , well obv now they have a reason to search your car , etc.) But if they have no reason to search , than dont give them one. ;) Stand up for your rights dude !

    in scotland they can order you out the car and search your car wothout a warrent i have been pulled over about five times every time they search my car i never carry smoke with me in the car i usually just take a couple of spliffs with me you got to be on the ball when your driving with contraban on you
