This is my 2nd Design, (2) 2600k 26watt Cfls and (2) 5600k 26watt 4" inline Duct fan for intake had it for the exhaust but the temp was hitting 88 to 92 so had a old fan laying around so installed that and keeps the temp at 72-74, i will probly get a fan controller for night time cuz its kinda loud. the Intake has a dryer hose ducting for light block and im gonna build a top over the exhaust fan for a light block and eventually a DIY carbon filter, just hoping it wont exceed my temp when installed... and its on wheels!
only 1 problem now it gets to hot inside the closet so i got to figure something out. now gaps or ways i can cut for a vent hose either. may have to sit it out in the room...
i personally havent tried the painting method but i heard a few coats of white paint will help the temp alot, so i would maybe slap a few more on there and see what happens. good luck!
Try adding an additional exhaust port. Find a small fan (4 inch), cut a 4" hole, and use two 4" 90 degree PVC elbows to extend to the outside. Spray paint the inside of the PVC fitting with flat black, and it will prevent light from escaping. Put the hole towards the top of the box and on the opposite side of the box from your intake port.
Are you planning on vegging and flowering in that box? It's very neat and clean looking, good work, my only concern is that might not be enough light for flowering if you have multiple plants.
Thanks for the complements on the box, Low budget but trying to do the best i can. I was planning on flowering in this box and i was gonna build another for veg, The temp is really giveing me problems With the new fan on top and no light blocks on it stays at 74, but once i add my 2 light blocks it will steady out at 78-80 is the temp ok or do i still need it to drop? I guess i got to spend some money on that mylar stuff, think your right the little bit of brown wood might be taking in heat. How many lights are suggested for flowering, im planning on 3 to 4 plants.
Here are some pics of a Cheap light block i made from Cardboard and PVC bends, the flash kinda tricks the eyes but i have curves to direct the air inside it, Dosnt let any light out soo and then the dryer hose from the intake. And here is the one plant that i been learning more with. are her bottom leaves suppose to die off that quick? Shes had a month of veg and this is 2nd week of flowering
Ok found some white plastic.....trash bags and i stapled it all on add some white wheather tape, cut 2 exhaust holes in the light trap, and added 2 more lights there the ones more suited for vegging but the only others i have at the moment. still waiting to see what temp will do...
Nice box. I was considering a non-working upright freezer. Should be able to find one free and they are insulated, shiney (metal) or white on the inside, air tight and stealthy.
Thats what i was useing just before i made this, the inside measurements were a little to small for me tho is was like 15x17x28, and cutting holes in the side was a bitch, Had to get a replace a jigsaw blade. but ya you can find em free easy best way just go to every hotel in your town and look by the dumpsters they always throw the bad ones out there got mine from a holiday inn.
oh yeah i think youd be good @ makeing a clone box man thats the way tooo goas far as quick production
