It's about time for a new car. Not new, but new to me. Low miles. I've got a few days until I'll be able to get one. (Inheritance coming in.)
    Price: < ~$20,000.

I'm really looking into the first generation Cadillac CTS's. I want to make the right decision.

    Some ideas:
    Customized Cadillac CTS
    2007 Cadillac CTS

    Maybe a BMW?

    What do you guys suggest?

  2. I like the 2nd choice. The 2007.

  3. i like the '07 as well.

  4. Bump.

I still haven't made up my mind. Are Cadillac's very reliable?

  5. what kind of car are you looking for? sedan? are you more geared (pun not intended) towards performance? or luxury? Do you want technology features? (navi, premium sound, power everything, etc.)

Some suggestions i have for you within that price range, are 06-08 Acura TL Type S, Infiniti G35 Coupe/Sedan, Infiniti G37 Coupe/Sedan, you could even start looking at some Lexus brand cars!!! at $20,000, the world is your oyster!!!

  6. Ooooh, Acura TL Type S is a sweet machine.

Or BMW 330i, you shouldn't have a challenge finding one for 20k

  7. Sedan is a must. Luxury, for sure. What about if I lowered it to <$15,000?

  8. Just got the 2011 CTS-V Coupe.
    Amazing.

  9. Your options would certainly decrease if you lowered your maximum amount. I found a 2003 Acura 3.2TL with 86000 Miles for 9,000 3 months ago. 225hp 3.2L V6, performance suspension... alloy wheels, 0-60 is a joy, but i wish i had the extra zip of the Type S! (Type S is a 260hp 3.2L V6 with a free flow exaust and a dual stage induction system)

The car handles like a dream, and doesn't require much to get up to 100mph or more.
Acura builds a hell of a TL, i'd seriously take a look at those. And if you are lucky you might be able to find a very rare Acura TL Type S A-SPEC version. those are beautiful cars!!!

  10. x2, check out the 330i if you're looking into 3-series. a little more power but nothing excessive, would make a great DD.

I heard they aren't very reliable.. My buddies mom had hers in the shop several times already. But god they're so fucking nice inside and out lol but like everyone said, the 05-08 TL a-spec models are fucking gorgeous. I've seen a few around my area around your price range

  12. Black Tl/Sx's dropped on Work Eurolines are hot shit.

  13. cadillacs arent 'unreliable.' you just have to maintain them religiously. i have a 92 seville and its a great car aside from the transmission problem i have caused.

id get a 01-03 cadillac seville SLS or STS. cheaper, just as fast, and doesnt run the risk of the rear differential failing or breaking loose on you.

am a mitsubishi guy, and im telling you, a 'Lac is cut from a different leather than most of the imports posted.

  14. i mean no offense, but is your buddy's mom the type to actually work towards maintaining a vehicle? because almost all (i can think of one, and she's into cars) women i know don't think about maintenance. it seems most will drive a car into the ground if someone doesn't say something to them.

  15. Lol, agreed, most moms think cars nowandays are invincible. but I can't say for sure what the problems were, all I know is they weren't very cheap repairs but weren't uncommon issues either. No, she is not that kind of woman lol the dad used to be a mechanic too.

IMO, some auto manufacturers are better/more reliable than others but what it comes down to is the individual cars history. If it wasn't cared for properly then, well, you know.

  16. My dad owns an 06' CTS and it's been great. No problems besides the odd brake squealing. The ride is comparable to a BMW.

  17. for 20Gs you can find some pretty sick vehicles. if it was me i'd go for a bmw just because i have always wanted one.
