  1. So I fucked up my step dads van's bumper, needs a completely new one. Whats the cost for a new bumper, installed, fresh and what not, in Canada?

    2000 dodge grand caravan.

Its a tiny little crack in the bumper, but hes a hard ass and says its 'the principal' behind me fixing it.

  2. well, maybe he's not being quite so hard-assed. i know where i live, if a car has a cracked bumper, it won't pass inspection.

but you're probably looking at $500-$1000, installed and painted to match.

i know the rear bumper on a tiny toyota pickup was ~$750.

  3. If you went to say a dealer and had it done completly it would be pretty spendy. At least 700. But if your good at doin handy stuff you could find a used bumper at a salvage yard and paint it your self or have it painted to match the car. And I bet that it could be done for under 150.....

  4. how small is the crack? if its small enough couldnt you just use some filler, sand it and repaint?

I have no auto-body experience...so theres a chance im totally wrong, dont really know the rules on bondo on plastics

oh and if you do buy a new bumper DO NOT BUY FIBERGLASS...cheap 3rd party vendors supply inferior parts...but are cheaper

  5. if its just a split or something, use a heatgun and melt it together carefully. do it from the back side so you dont burn and bubble up your paint. i fixed one of my cracked bumpers this way.

and you can go get a bumper out of the junkyard for like $20-50. $100 if theyre expensive.

  6. Thanks for the tip. I found one for 75$. I plan on picking it up soon. :smoke:
