You can thank a Texas Republican. What happened to small goverment? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/1..._n_998993.html
Like us crazy RP-supporters have been saying: once you allow even one personal freedom slip away, then King Obama and his court of jokers will support to pass even more oppression.
*facepalm* this asshole is Lamar Smith, the same piece of trash that pigeonholed our two Paul/Frank bills to keep them out of the legislative process. I'd say we could take a trip to TX to talk to the man, but evidently he never goes to his home state unless he's campaigning. and he shuts himself away from any outside contact that may be available to cannabis reformers. Don't blame all republicans for this piece of shit.
OH man, it's the same guy? He's really fucking shit up for the legalization movement. Was his mom raped by a gang of stoners?
I don't know, but he's got a serious hate on for weed. but year, it's the same asshole. TX 21 iirc. from Wikipedia if there was anyone I would wish a slow death from prostaet cancer for, it is this guy. and in the last days I'd drop all the CBD and THC research is his lap and ask him about that medical use...
A Texas Tea Party Republican. Smaller government and less spending, my ass. When are people going to see these hypocrites for what they really are?
I looked up Lamar Smith during the Paul/Frank bills. this guy is not the type who gets his positions because people like him. he gets his positions because he knows who's got skeletons buried and where. And with the line Obie's been taking on MMJ, and the contributions he's been getting from folks, he's likely to sign this shit.
First and foremost I do not agree with this bill. At all. That said, you are interpreting it incorrectly. It does not prohibit Americans from doing drugs elsewhere, necessarily. It prohibits us from distributing them. i.e. "anyone who discusses, plans or advises someone else to engage in any activity that violates the CSA" The example is given as, "Under this bill, if a young couple plans a wedding in Amsterdam, and as part of the wedding, they plan to buy the bridal party some marijuana, they would be subject to prosecution," Yet, ""The strange thing is that the purchase of and smoking the marijuana while you're there wouldn't be illegal." In simple terms, it is illegal to distribute drugs here in the U.S. for a U.S. citizen and now they are saying they will attempt to prosecute you for distributing even outside our borders. It's a ridiculous law, and sounds ridiculously hard to even enforce.
Doubtful. So I do apologize for me jumping to conclusions and blaming Obama, but I don't foresee this as turning out well for us. Doesn't anyone possibly see a connection btwn the pro-marijuana turnout on the WhiteHouse Petititon website (where Obama asked the public to raise questions/debates/petitions) and after so many signatures they would "address" the issue. Obama sees that legalizing pot is on everyone's minds, and he is making a complete 180 on his state's rights/MMJ stance from only a few months ago. This is how they are "addressing" the issue. Increasing federal raids that go against state laws, and now moving further towards a NWO.
If the bill gets that far we'll be in some deep shit. Not because Obama will pass it but because eventually someone will.
a direct shot at places like GC This is the kind of guy I wish I could turn into what the Corps calls a "self-correcting error" but those pesky laws, drat it.
never. they'll vote in democrats and get pissed, then vote in republicans and get pissed.. and just keep doing it all over again..
yeah.. it won't get even close to the presidents desk. but the fact that someone dreamed up a bill like this is pretty scary
Lots of scary bills such as this are dreamed up by members of both parties, I really don't see this one getting too far though when the sentiment all over the country is fix the damn economy...
