New at Indoor Growing.....Need knowledge!!

  1. I am currently growing just one plant of unknown origin/strain under two 40watt daylight cfl's and will be adding two 40watt soft white cfl's in a few days. It is being grown in miracle gro soil that contains 6 months of food already in it. The pic which I included was taken today on the 19th and this plant sprouted on the 3rd so only been 16 days. I also have a small fan blowing indirectly near it so just the leaves move a very little bit. Let me know what you all think and any advice/knowledge is greatly appreciated!!!

  2. Sorry for pic being so huge but this is first time doing it on this site for me so will be last time I do it lol

  3. Cute grow

  4. id take off those string supports. Let the fan blow on it and strengthen then stem so it will easily stand on its own. If not, when it flowers it might fall over on itself unless you tie it up all over.

  5. i'll sub in here to watch over and drop in advice where I can..

  6. yup, no need for the strings at this point... turn that fan up high if u want to strengthen the stem. You can also do some snap and pinching that will fatten up the stem too, search the stickies for the methods...

looks pretty though!! keep it up!

Looks good bro, come here for knowledge.

Oh, and take that string off asap, you'll strangle her, don't want that!!

  8. The main things you need are more light especially for flower. Miracle Grow soil is not real good for plants, it can release Nutes to slow or fast causing damage to our plants. The air circulation is good for the plant and don't use support until absolutely needed, usually in flowering, make sure you keep temp cool. Plants thrive best at 85 degrees or less. Remember to transplant before it gets to big, the last thing you want is it to become root bound. For soil use an organic blend or get happy frog or forest farm soil or other from local hydro store. Soil and lighting besides water are the most important factors in growing. With a great soil Nutes are not needed. Hope this helps you a bit.

  9. I have taken the strings off because the stem has become much stronger than it was a few days ago. With this plant I don't plan to top or use any nutes besides what is already in the soil with four 40watt cfl's on it with two on top and other two on the sides. My only main issue now is keeping the soil moist because it seems to be drying up fairly fast. Plant is super healthy right now so will just keep doing what I have been doing and go from there.

  10. Man, you need to do some more research.

You do NOT want to keep the soil moist 24/7. Let it dry out and test the soil by sticking your finger in the soil. When its dry up to your first knuckle, then water it.

This will cause your roots to be stronger and healthier. These plants like for the soil to get dry, then saturate it.

    :)

  11. I stuck my entire index finger in today and it was dry so I soaked it down pretty good so hopefully won't have to water it again for 3-4 days. I have been letting it get pretty dry for sometime now and it is still flourishing. I am a little less worried now that I know it will help to make the roots stronger by letting it dry out some.
