Hi hon! I'm "Granny", one of the local "know-it-alls"    I like to help people.  Let's see if I can ease a few of your fears-

Have you ever thought about furthering your education? When I moved to a town where I knew absolutely no one, I took some community college courses. After "chatting up" the kids at the stoner's table in the cafeteria/ lounge for a week or so, I got invited to a party. I met a young gal there who turned out to be a very reliable connection. I was in my mid-50s at the time, incidentally! Yoga and ceramics usually have zero homework, and have a fair % of stoners in them! :ey:

Growing is the best way to go for many folks. I have a small set-up. A few rubbermaid tubs filled with potting soil, a couple bathroom light bars from the thrift shop, some big CFLs, and a little scrap lumber, turned my spare closet in the den into my own little "grow op"! :yay:It runs me about $35 per month to keep myself and my hubby in meds.  And, really, hon, when was the last time anyone looked in your back closet? If you pick "air freshener strains" (piney, lemony, fruity, etc) to grow, any odor is more easily masked.

But to grow you need seeds, of course. Ordering on line from the larger seed banks is reasonably safe. Unless you are ordering hundreds of seeds, this is what happens when you get caught - you get the infamous "green letter" saying that customs has confiscated some contraband items and would you like to come down and pick them up? (Hell,NO!  ) And that it IT!  Here's a recent thread on it-

Customs does not have the time or money to run down everyone buying a dozen seeds! Also, it is all too easy for someone to order in your name without your knowledge- so it just isn't worth the effort for customs, because you can always claim ignorance! :confused_2:

Let's talk about your anxiety. I'm not a doctor, but I do read more medical studies than most doctors and I know my MMJ!  When you are looking for seeds, get at least some that are "high CBD" (cannabidiol). CBD is THC's partner in healing. Since you are in a medical profession, I don't have to break everything down for you! (  :yay:)  CBD is an anxiolytic and is nonpsychoactive! The "High CBD" strains of cannabis, have lower levels of THC, and are ideal for "day use".

Cannabidiol, a Cannabis sativa constituent, as an anxiolytic drug.     (full – 2012)

Cannabidiol reduces the anxiety induced by simulated public speaking in treatment-naïve social phobia patients.        (abst – 2011)     http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21307846

Cannabidiol inhibits THC-elicited paranoid symptoms and hippocampal-dependent memory impairment.        (abst – 2012)       http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23042808

These folks can fill you in on CBD -   http://www.projectcbd.org/plant/strain-library/

And as a medical professional, you may be interested in something I give away, "Granny Storm Crow's List". Those studies above are from it. The current edition is over 1000 pages of links to just about everything related to cannabis and the cannabinoids! To get your free PDF of the List, check out the bottom of my sig and email me, or PM me your email.

And may I strongly suggest that you start taking Omega 3?

    Nutritional omega-3 deficiency abolishes endocannabinoid-mediated neuronal functions.    (abst – 2011)           http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21278728

The uncoupled receptors, simply can't do their jobs of modulating mood, or anything else. They are like a speaker with a busted wire! The message is there but not getting through and this causes all sorts of mental and physical problems!

High omega-6 and low omega-3 fatty acids are associated with depressive symptoms and neuroticism. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17991818

Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Mood Disorders http://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/article.aspx?Volume=163&page=969&journalID=13

Long-Chain Omega-3 Fatty Acid Deficiency in Mood Disorders: Rationale for Treatment and Prevention. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21838665

Now, among those "endocannabinoid-mediated neuronal functions" is "getting high"! :smoking:  So improving the number of working CB1 receptors by getting sufficient Omega 3 will improve both your health and your high!

Feel free to PM me if you want to have a chat just between us girls!

  2. Oh wow thanks so much for all the info. Day use is a huge plus because I don't want to be out of it while caring for my kids. I work plus have two under 3 years old so super busy not sure a class is an option. Maybe in the future?

    Thanks so much
