Net Pot Root Hole Size

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Growing' started by Am No Bunny, Mar 14, 2014.

  1. I have noticed 2-4" pots have very wide openings for the roots but at the hydro store I was at, the larger the pot the smaller the holes were, up to about 2mm x 4mm.

Does this make a difference? Surely it limits root size?

I have also noticed this. Some pots are badly designed. I have cut all my large pots so the holes are now long strips. This allows lots of movement as the roots widen

  3. My holes are so small that it'll be hard to get scissors in there to cut them, maybe a razor blade? Anybody else got an opinion =o...

  4. should of def checked out those net pot hole sizes. use 6 inch ones and i can already see when looking at my roots that they could be more spread out and wider. their very concentrated on certain spots

  5. All mine are semi uniform, just so the clay balls cant get out for the most part.

  6. Yeah I used a razor blade to cut mine
