me and my room mate have been trying to put together a small 1-2 plant grow for personal use, and at first we decided to go with a home made rubbermaid box. it hasn't been coming along TOO bad.. we've encountered heat issues that we are still working on fixing, but that's about it (box is in a closet). anyways, i was looking on amazon earlier and i found a grow tent that is the absolute perfect dimensions for the closet and it's way cheap.. now it's pretty obvious that purchasing it is the more logical thing to do, but i had a few questions before i did so. 1. i'm thinking one of the causes of our heat problems on our box was the fan on the exhaust. it's a 65 CFM in-line, and it just wasn't keeping the box cool enough, so we ordered a 225 CFM 120mm PC fan to use as exhaust, and we were planning on connecting the in-line to help as in-take. is it going to be possible to properly mount the PC fan on the top for exhaust? we have sufficient 4" ducting and what not. 2. due to space restrictions we are growing in a closet so, yes, heat is a major issue here, so we decided to go with CFL's as the lighting. I'm sure it won't be too bad, but having no prior experience with grow tents, i'm wondering how easy it will be to somehow hang our lights in there? we currently use power strips, socket converters and y-converters for our lights(edit: decent size collection of 20/26 watt 6500k and 2700k bulbs). 3. should i be taking any kind of precautions before ordering items such as this off of amazon? i do not want to raise any flags, as that would be the worst thing to do at a time like this. anyways, thanks for reading my post and any input is appreciated. edit:http://www.amazon.com/Lighthouse-Hy...TF8&qid=1347435579&sr=8-25&keywords=grow+tent a link to the tent i was looking at,
Don't buy everything at once. I mean to be honest it doesn't matter. Growing is a hobbie for many people. It ranges from herbs and vegetables, to flowers. So it wouldn't be a problem to buy the hardware. To be a little safer I wouldn't have the stuff delivered to the place ur growing. Just be safe carbon scrubbers are a must.
If you cant exhaust the fan out of the closet you will have perpertual problems. Cool air in hot air out. Hanging lights in a grow tent is easy. You use ratchets you can buy. As for amazon why would ordering any of that raise any problems. Anything you grow with from lights to nutrients can be used for anything. Thats why there are hydro stores in all 50 states.
