I want to create a small grow box thinking less than 30 sq ft in my garage for medical use. I want it to be stealth so friends don't know if they stop by. I am concerned about the smell and sound. Thought about putting a mini-fridge on the top of the box since its a great place to have one in the garage to help with sound but don't want to rely completely on that. I know that I can get a carbon scrubber and a inline fan but it has to be quiet. The lowest I found are about 100cfm which would clean the air 3 times a minute which is too fast. So that will need to taken in consideration. I am going to purchase two low smelling clone strains (don't know which ones). I don't want to keep purchase clones so I am going to need a space for a mother plant for proper timing. (Will take clones before flowering to make mother and new clones). I have heard about the gel; but how many where to place it? As for light; I want to stay low wattage since I am not going for high yield so thinking CF lights. Thinking on have two spaces one for the mother/clones and veg/flowering. I need to know is the minimum space need for both compartments? I can have up to 6 mature plants most likely will have less than that thinking 2-4. I can also have 12 immature and 1 mother; don't need to have 12 clones at once. I would rather build a box since I am handy around tools. Any advice would be great. Wasn't sure if this should be place in the beginners or the grow room section... hope its in the right place. Since most questions and advice I am looking for pertain to the box figured it went here.
The main thing I want to know beyond anything else how much space is need for a mother to share a space with a few clones and a space for the veg/flowering area for no more than 6 plants. That way I can start designing the grow box. thanks
I dont exactly know how to do it myself yet, but I have read a little about putting speed controllers on fans, maybe you could figure out a way to slow the 100cfm fan down to your needs.
Do you mean 30 cubic feet? Because 30 sq ft is not a small grow box lol And you can buy a 3 speed fan at Fry's. It doesn't require you to plug the fan directly in the mother board or fan controller in order to control the speed. It has an external switch that has Hi-Med-Lo.
I meant less 30 cu sq ft. Funny how one little word changes the dimensions quite a bit. Thought about equal to less than 3x3x4 for 24 cu sq ft More likey less than so that's the confusion since I do want to include a mother within 30 cu sq ft
