Man, what you should do is find a good custom tattoo artist in your area and have them draw up a sketch for you.

You're still welcome to say "that's not quite what I want", or explain to them what you want to change or whatever.

But at least that way, you're getting tattooed by the person who did the art for you.

 

ur design would be totally unreadable as the tattoo u actually want. so what JD said. also body placement and sizing is very imprtant aswell as to wether the tattoo will have the right flow and will be readable. also do not forget to have the part of the body ur getting tattooed at rest (duh right? not really) and in its natural position when the stencil is being applied or else it will only look right when u are contorted into the position u were in when the stencil was applied if u tense up for any reason or whatever when theyre putting on the stencil. ud be surprised how many tattooists forget to mention this to u when applying a stencil. most will say pose natural. but u almost never hear `stop flexing`when its obvious someone is.

and make sure the aritist that u do get to do this for u has tattoos in his book (portfolio) that are done in the style u want ur tattoo done in. because if u want it done in say neo traditional style that doesnt mean that that the strong suit of the artist ur talking to. this why it is very important not to rush this process. but with that said most artists will not draw u a design they cant confidently tattoo. but idiots exist evrywhere, so caviet emptor pal. good luck. make sure to post ur tattoo here when u get it.

Agree with them just wanted to add one thing ..keep in mind you generally get what you pay for keep away from friends with tattoo guns unless you've seen there work allready
