Greetings! Im new here and im just about to start my first plant and i was wondering i have this 400w E40 light bulb. Question is can i plug it into my random rooms socket or the light bulb is too strong for it , i reeally dont want to burn my house down while im out Im not quite educated yet on electricity. all i know that the socket can take 220v. Maybe someone knows something if i explained good enough. Happy to hear all suggestions.
400w is fine assuming you don't have a bunch of other stuff plugged in. Even if you do, the breaker will just trip. A 15 amp circuit can handle 1800 watts, but not recommended to go over 80% of that (1440 watts). 15 amp circuits are the smallest circuits you will see in a house
