so yeah i aint gonna lie. My life is pretty fine and dandy. gonna start an amazing course at an amazing university in a few weeks...in simple words my life is awesome. The same cannot however be said for my family. Im in uk so maybe this will make more sense for uk people but my sister has been struggling academically (actually more like putting no effort in whatsoever) and is doing btec courses rather than GCSE's. Essentially making it impossible for her to do anything worthwhile in terms of higher education (unless im wrong. please tell me im wrong lol). My dad had an affair and this means that whenever my mother gets drunk she just moans on and on about this. So why did i make this thread? Does anyone have any experience of infidelity in the family and how can i help with this (i really want to get my mum smoking more weed rather than drinking as this is one of her main problems). Also how can I get a 14 year old interested in her schoolwork (especially when she is essentially fucked.....for americans a btec basically means she can only achieve a maximum of a c grade-the 4th highest possible bearing in mind most people who are any good get the highest grade. no offense to any who didnt). I appreciate any replies and apologize for bringing the general mood on GC down a peg
You can't fix everyone's problems unfortunately man. I'd just try and focus on your own future instead, and let what happens happen. You can try and talk sense into them but if it doesn't work I'd just say let it be.
Ok.. First your sister... She is 14 and in a crappy household from what it sounds... You just gotta do your best to be a big brother... Talk to her about sex and make sure she understand how guys really are, Even you yourself as a guy, not as just a brother, how you approach woman and such. Make sure she understand. If she doesnt focus on school, thats not something you can help much. All you can do is talk to her and try to make her understand that her choices are going to hurt her in the long run.. You pops: A man is a man... If you can, whoop is ass. As for your mom.... just spark a joint or spliff or whatever you britts do.. and just try to talk to her.. Talking is all you ever really can do when it comes to family... I never talked to my family and had a mental break down in front of my mom once.. Dont let it get to that point. As for yourself man, just focus on school and money. Your family is family and you should always love them but ultimatly you need to make sure you get your life in order and do what you have to do to get your money right. If you do that then maybe you can take care of your mom and failing sister, even tho it shouldnt be your responisibility. Whatever you do tho, focus on you. YOU. YOU. YOU!
