Okay so im gonna invest in doing this right. im gonna get a grow tent about 4'x2' but i need to know if two of these light sets would be good enough. so what do you think any advice would be great: 125 watt cool (6500K) compact fluorescent bulb
If your gonna go all out in that tent get a 600w HPS "Enclosed Hood" system with a red/blue spectrum HPS bulb.Most HPS bulbs are these days I think.Ones for growing that is. MH is really obsolete these days.The duel spectrum HPS bulbs can be a bit more,but your replacing 2 bulbs for 1 remember. Ushio,and EyE Hortilux are good ones. Get some ducting,and a 400 CFM inline fan,and you win.
ive never done this so do i need a generator or something to cool the light? and im trying to go as cheap as i can without getting bullshit thats not gonna go anything. what about this? will this work and what else would i need to get with it? If you don't mind telling us what your budget is for the lights then we can better tell you the best for what you are looking to spend. As Disciple says 600W HPS is the best for that size area, however most people do not want to spend the 5 hundred or so dollars a good HPS and ballast costs. The cheapest route would be to use those two 125W CFLS with an addition 150 W LED (at 2700K to vary the spectrum). CFLs and LED will grow you quality buds there is countless grows on here using them. The main advantage of HPS and MH is the speed of the growth, and as a result of that how dense buds get during flower.

Go for the 400w man. Best bet! Some 4'' Vent Duct - 1 4'' Inline Fan - Like a 22'' Phresh Carbon Filter, And you should be good to go on lighting - if you want the 600w just do 6'' duct with 6'' inline fan. Btw virtual sun is made in america including the ballast and has every american safety check stamped on the box!
hey snow! lol no i was just curious on how the air is pushed through the ducts. i know it cools the light but whats circulating it. shouldnt there be something pushing the air through? or is it just the air that flows normally?
