Need some advice about flushing

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Delucia21, Mar 23, 2021.

  1. First time grower here I have a couple autos that are getting close to being done and I have never been here before my question is how can I tell when to start flushing and how close are these ( see photos ) I don't want to jump the gun and quit feeding nutes till it's time autos are a 8 week according to the breeder I understand the clear ,cloudy ,amber trichome thing but do I start flushing before that happens or when I start seeing a few Amber's and how long do I flush in fox farm Of using megacrop and sweet candy thanks any advice is appreciated.

  2. I usually flush when almost all of the white pistils have turned brown. So when you have about 20% left, that’s when I flush.

The trichomes will be about 50%-60% cloudy. If you have amber trichomes, then you have waited too late to start your flush.

I give mine at least 10 days without nutes just before chop, but if you can push it to a full 2 weeks, a lot of times it is better.

I made a flushing video a long time ago that might help.

  3. You still have quite a few white pistils, which normally means more grow time. Have you snipped a piece of bud to check trichomes? Don't use leafs.
Soil flush is for two weeks. I don't flush. I've done it before and there wasn't enough change to compel me to do so again. I don't do dark at end of grow either. Same reason.

  4. Thanks so say I need two weeks to flush..at what stage of the trichomes development would I start that two week flush I have no idea how fast they change or even if they continue to change during flush

  5. Your auto looks great, btw. I’ve seen people destroy autos (I’ve destroyed several myself) and get almost nothing from them.

    You’ve done well!

  6. My video explains all of that.

I flush when they are 15-20% clear and 75-80% cloudy.

  7. Thank you It has been a great ...but I realize I could screw this up still and I'm confused on when to start flushing for harvest

  8. Feed just unsulfured molasses from here on out. That's your flush

  9. What will unsulphured molasses do? Adding it to the soil will only feed the beneficial microorganisms in the medium, but not much more than that.

Here is the equation for how plants make something from nothing.

    And again.

Cell by Cell the plant builds itself.

Please write the equation for Flushing
Since it deconstructs there must be an equation for it. Just how does all this water reach up in the plant and do what exactly ?

<-- Never did get this part. I must have ditched school that day.

  11. Don't flush. No need stoner science.
I'm no big time grower, but I've been growing and involved in cultivation off and on since the early '90s. myself, and in blind test others have never been able to tell the difference between flushed and unflushed, and if you can then use some pretty wicked chemicals and might think about changing what you're putting in your plants.

When you think it's ready, give it a good watering with pure water and let it be for 2 days.

    Ready is up to you.

Some people like a lot of amber, some people tell you you've ruined it if there's any amber, other people think clear as way to go but for the most part if you ask me, the all-knowing, cloudy is where it's at.

Some plants never show much amber, some go almost straight from clear to amber. You just have to keep an eye on them see what's happening.
The strain I've been growing lately does a pretty good job of going clear to cloudy and pretty much being all cloudy with only a few amber trichomes, but at the same time if you looked at the pistils you would still see quite a few white ones.
Just go by the trichomes, keep an eye on it and learn your strain.

  12. And that alone is better than a stupid 2 week water flush where the plant eats itself. Thank you

  13. I've grown about 80 different auto strains, and they never finish when the breeder claims.
Breeders know that people are looking for fast autos, so they lowball the estimate.
Adding 1-2 weeks to claimed breeder time will get you close.

Flushing is stoner science that does not do what flushers believe it does.

  14. If you wear a face mask over your eyes when you smoke the chemical taste goes away. Or at least blindfolded smokers can't tell when you don't flush.
