everything in my grow has gone wrong! so far i'm growing in my room, the rooms is kept at around 70-73.. my grow tent is 3 feet wide 3 feet deep 6 feet tall. i have a 1000watt mh bulb in a cool hood i also have a carbon filer and in inline fan with around 450 cfm.. my temps stay in the 90's.. mind you the exhaust hose goes out a window i also have a portable a/c that was pumping a/c into the tent but wasn't really helping im willing to take any advice and to answer any question. this is my setup.
Sorry, but im just not seeing the question here... I will say, and someone corrwct me if im wrong but 90's is a little high. i do my best to stay under 85 durring lights on. Right now im at 82.3 and 52%rh. be careful with using the ac, that will tend to drop your humidity. hope that helps
According to your diagram you are exhausting air from the bottom of your tent through the carbon filter and the cooled AC air is entering through a vent in the top? If that is the case, that is your problem. That is total opposite of what it should be. Hot air rises. You need to exhaust from the top of your tent. I don't mean the actual exhaust port, I mean the source of your exhaust. You are exhausting your cold air on the bottom of the tent and leaving the hot air inside. Your carbon filter needs to be as far up in your tent as possible if you are exhausting from it.
While you are at it. Switch the AC intake to a bottom port. Your temps should be perfect after you make those switches.
personally i think its your light & the tents size which is giving you your problems. no matter if your venting at the top & bottom & you are using a cooltube, still 1000 watts too much. i think you,ll need to downgrade to a 400/600 cooltube for a tent of that size. your venting at the top, according to your diagram,so your doing what you can but as i said too much wattage you need to downgrade mate & you,ll be able to regulate the heat no problems. your set up is good! peace........................ ps; the more you tinker with venting you will more than likely affect your humidity levels
All wrong. He is clearly venting air from the bottom according to that pic and he even confirmed it in his post, and 1000 watt might be overkill as far as lumens goes, but it is not overkill as far as heat. It can be cooled just as easily as a 400 watt can be, all it needs is more air flow, which he has. He just needed to vent properly. I bet you his temps are fine once he makes those changes.
about to go to bed.... but i did move the filter to the top,and moved the fan outside the tent...seeing as i have little to no room for things in the tent so my set up goes like this...air goes in thru the filter ducting hood ducting fan ducting/exhaust my temp dropped to 82 degrees at the bottom of the tent and 95 by the light tomorrow i'll install the ducting to run cold air from the bottom and see what happens. thanx again GC!
Glad to hear it Hex! Do you have any fans inside the tent for circulation? If you don't definitely add some. They will help with the temps even more, and provide the plants with beneficial air movement. I really love the fact that you have a 1000 MH in such a small area. You are going to have some KILLER buds from that setup.
