Hey, I forget when I planted this plant- either 2 or 3 weeks ago. I have some pictures (of which are not the best quality) and am hoping you smarties out there can help me figure out what sex this plant is. (Or tell me to gtfo, which is how it usually goes) Thanks!
Take some pics of the yellowing leaves. Sex really can't be determined until you enter the flowering stage. Its why they sell feminized seeds 99% chance it will be female. If not you have a 50 50 chance obviously. Your plant is stretching for the light. When a light is not close and I would imagine your using a CFL from the looks of it all the plant will do if its not very close is grow tall then fall over. If your using a CFL keep it 2-4 inches away from the plant. Get a small fan blowing air around...that makes the stem stronger. If your using a incadesent light bulb toss it get a CFL or something else.
See how the leaves are in pairs? That means it is still a baby! When it "hits puberty", the leaves will alternate- you'll have one leaf on one side and then a little further up will be the next leaf on the other side. Most strains of cannabis can be held in a "baby" state for as long as they get 18 hours of light a day. To get them to mature, you need to cut the hours down to 12 light and 12 dark hours. And MORE LIGHT! Your baby is starving for light! Get the biggest CFL you can find and keep it close to the plant! Granny
Not true about the sexxing..every plant will show before flower, happens at about twenty one days from sprout..every plant becomes sexually mature and will show preflowers..
Buy fem seeds never a worry. might cost more but what costs more..the seed or waiting wasting time of your life that you can't get back only to have to rip a male out.
I find this diagram to be accurate. Many make the mistake of thinking that X in the image is female both male and female have X parts. Y means female and by the time those show its in flowering under 12/12. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Mine are about 3 months along and just switched to 12/12 the day I saw this. Yes I know they need more co2, dry ice tonight on my supply/timer shelf above the plants and lowered lights a bit more (day cfls, day floro tubes) and now giving direct sunlight as well. Just random bagseed from a friend lol. Just watch for balls. You see how those female hairs get sticky I spent hours reading just about determining sex, how to catch males early, looking carefully at pics like they were porn... Hell it is... Plant porn!
