Need help with plant... :(

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by hazerhazerhazer, Apr 9, 2018.

  1. 1st time grower here...

Bought plants from clones, 2 oil spill, 2 zkittles and 1 romulan x grapefruit.
3x3 tent, two viparspectra 300v lights(QB on order), two 8in passive intake lines, 6in max fan with carbon filter for exhaust, tent has negative pressure, one small fan inside tent blowing above the top of the canopy.
    Temps range from 68-78
    RH 40-62%

Planted in 1 gallon pots using FF light warrior soil on 3/10.

Transplanted to 3 gallon pots using Roots 707 soil on 3/23. Watered every 3-4 days using only 6.3-6.4 PH water until 4/2. On 4/2 began using nutrients - .8ml per gallon floranova grow and .3ml per gallon floralicious, ph 6.4. Checked soil on 4/5 and soil seemed dry and pots light. Proceeded to feed again on 4/5 1ml per gallon floranova grow and .5ml floralicous(trying to catch is with the GH feed schedule).

Around a day or two after this feeding I noticed the leaves on the romulan plant clawing, next day brown spots started.

Checked the soil again yesterday 4/8 and soil was dry and pots were light so I proceeded to give only 6.4 PH water.

I also checked run off yesterday and run off was around 5.5. I did check run off 2 weeks ago and it was around the same. I did some research and found a lot of thoughts were not to worry about the run off....

Question is what are my next steps? I showed the hrydo store i buy from and they said not to worry about it, although to me it looks concerning.

Could it be a nitrogen toxicity issue? Over water? Did I introduce nutrients to the soil to soon?

Also - my plan it to move 2 plants outside once I get enough light as I know 3x3 is to small for 5 plants, but I may run out of space before that happens. (530 area code Northern California)

Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you

  2. Run off in soil should be in 6.2 to 6.8 range

  3. Thank you!

Question is, how did i get that low? Everything i have put into the soil has been 6.3-6.4.

Was there something I should have done with the soil before hand?

Any suggestions on bringing it down?

    Thanks!

  4. I usually just adjust with 7.5 ph water for a heavy feed until i get into the safe zone with runoff.. 99% of the time its perfect at the next feeding.. You can mix a couple tbsp of dolomite lime in your soil to adjust ph long term, but it will take a bit to buffer.

  5. Thank you much! Since i just watered with ph 6.4 water yesterday, and normally wait 3-4 day between watering should i wait for the next watering on this plant or is this something i should do now?

  6. I would flush at least once with 7.0 to 7.5 ph water and check run off now if it was that low.. It usually takes me a couple rounds to raise the root zone ph with water

  8. How did your romulan grapefruit turn out? Was it from dark heart? I swear mine seems like blue dream. Not the same as a previous grow I did. [IMG]

  9. Couple questions befor i diagnose this problem. What is ur enviorment like temps/humidity is this just happening at the top of the plant bottoms or whole plant with the discolored leafs. Hanging ur light above the canopy how many inches is it above? We can fix this. Ph run off is important with a drop like u just explained there is something wrong. I agree with what is said above try and fix ur medium first step
