Need Help With My Buddha

  1. Hi great folks, I have da buddha, but I rarely used it. I got it out again and I want to perfect it so I get the most benefit from it. One of the problems I have is the screen. I can't seem to get the right size screen in there. Then when I draw, I get some flakes (sometimes quite a bit) in my mouth. How are you getting screens in there just the right size and fit?
I also can't get the temp right. If I turn it down a little, I get nothing. So I turn it up a little, and the weed in the bowl gets dark brown very quickly. Is it better to draw fast so it's not as hot? I know when you draw slowly, it's hotter.

I know I am supposed to grind it and stir frequently.
Gee, I guess I need basic vaping 101 if someone is willing to tell me.

I don't have da buddah, but some general tips.

Dark brown quickly is generally not a bad thing. If you want to, you can stop a bit before charred. As long as it isn't charred then you are vaping and if you are getting it very dark brown you are getting a more stony high.

From the info above we can also conclude that light brown isn't bad either :D You will just get a less stony high and might not have as full extraction. Exactly the colors for the extraction levels I can't fully comment on but I generally go very very dark when I want to be stoned and I ensure that it isn't black or smell like anything burnt.

Sometimes you get little on the first 1-2 draws depending on the moisture in your weed. If you only tried few draws on those low temps and then increased, try going a bowl fully on lower and see if the clouds get better.

Don't focus too much on the clouds, some vape might not be the biggest cloud producers but will get you there in the end and sneak up on you. Focus on the color of the AVB.

If you had an accurate vape you could go with temp charts but since I don't know da buddah I can't say anything here. I still find it easier to go with color because like I said, draw affects temperature. After a while you will know when to stop or stir simply by taste.

Draw matters on most vapes and is very individual, you will have to check with someone that has da buddah for some tips here. In general, what I tend to do when I'm trying to find my own levels, is to do a few "bowls" super fast, then do a few bowls super slow. When I have how it behaves in max and min use cases I try to find something in between that fits me. It is a "slow" process but should give you good behavior of your vape within 6 bowls.

I prefer not to stir too often but I have a vape that burns quite evenly when packed right. Ideally I stir max 2 times on a .2 = 6 tokes for me. I feel that when I stir and it is too dry it crumbles and that seems to affect taste for me.

    GL!

    EDIT PS:
I tend to be between 330-360F on my Evo but what the real temps end up based on draw I can't say.

  4. HEAT UP FULLY BEFORE USE,
PACK LOOSELY, slow draws, STIR YOUR BOWL,
    DON’T OVERUSE,
    DON’T USE ON FULL HEAT,
    Clean Regularly

  5. Thank you! The problem I was having was it was getting very dark brown too
quickly. I cleaned the screen and it's made a huge difference. Duh. I don't
know why I didn't think of that sooner.

  6. Thank you! That's wasn't sure of, whether to draw slow or not. Thanks for clearing that up.

  7. No problem. I believe with all vaping devices I’ve had 4 or 5. It’s always a slow draw. Even with banger and bongs. U slow draw to fill then hit hard to clear. It’s slow and steady with vaping.

  8. I measured the used one in my Buddha and its around 14.5mm, however those stainless steel ones are a pain to form to the right shape. You could switch to brass screens, much is much easier to seat.
On the draw thing it really is a individual thing. I found a basic primer sheet here https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0872/1488/files/Instructions_Da_Buddha_1.pdf My preference is a soft long draw after two or three minute warm up period from a cold start.

  9. Thank you very much. I wonder if the brass screens come in that size or do you have to cut them to size?

  10. Close enough to work, I have a bag of random ones left over from my combustion days and most of them work with the exception of the one inchers.

  11. yo, Daisy!

looks like some blades have helped take care of you.
I love my DBV. shouts out to Seventh Floor, lol.
keeping the screen (and whole vapor path, tbh) clean is important with all vapes, so glad you got that sorted.
you can buy a little brush that fits in the chamber to keep it clean!
    here's what I recommend:
Cleaning Brush Set – STORZ & BICKEL
turn the wand upside down and stick the brush up into the chamber and swirl it around a few times.
I ordered a bunch of replacement screens from Seventh Floor's site and they've lasted a long time.
can't remember what website I ordered my extra whip tubing from but I could find that.

your draw speed and temp depend on how you want to take your rips.
find where you're comfortable drawing and then find the right temperature for that draw speed.
try and keep that speed semi-consistent throughout the bowl.
personally, I like to keep a good draw going through the hit, and set the temperature dial to right about 12 o'clock. a little past if I have a bit more moist material or a smaller bowl pack, and a bit before 12 o'clock if it's a tight bowl or especially dry herb.

maybe I can dig up a picture of my DBV setup so I don't have to take one...

    happy vaping!

  12. I’m a big fan of 7th Floor myself I have the SSV (best table top whip vape) and LSV by them. I was working at a shop, it had to be 10 years ago when those guys were making Buddha’s and SSV’s outa their garage. They did then and still have the best customer service. Good people.

    As for your screens.
Before you put the screen in bend it (not crease) into a ) shape. Adjust accordingly. Push the curved screen into the whip vertically not horizontally. When the edge touches the glass where it’s suppose to lay, use your poker and flip the screen to horizontal so the curved side is facing up. Depending on screen size apply pressure to the center of the screen and it will flatten out until it hits the edges. If it’s a fit you can just gently push so the bump flips make the screen a dish shape in your whip. If it’s to small flatten it out as much as you can gently or your just gonna push it through. If the screen is to big cut that shit:)

    For your temp.
Think of the temp dial on the Buddha as a clock. Pull the knob off and there will be a little metal post with a groove in it. Turn that post to the left until the grove is strait up and down. Or just turn your knob to the left, it won’t want to but it will with gentle pressure, it won’t break. Turn it until the click when you turn it on happens at 6 o’clock. Right now it’s probably at 1 - 1:30. Now that it clicks on 12 o’clock is your best friend. If it’s not perfect temp wise it’s only the slightest adjustment left or right. My girl hand painted the top half of a clocks face on my ssv. Shit looked dope!

    Keep it cloudy homies !!
