Need help with my bong!

So I've had my bong for like a month or two now, I love it.
But I never really messed with anything that looked like it shouldn't be messed with.

So anyways I have two questions..

    What is a beaker base?

And what is the plugged hole on my bong.
here is there picture of the bong, the hole is on the side for theirs, but for mine its in the middle of the bong right above the bowl.

Do I remove whatever is plugging the hole?

Also to add, when I smoke on my bong with friends, we usually just remove the keck, and just pull the bowl, rather then having the keck on and pulling the bowl with the downstem, is that fine?

  2. A beaker base is exactly what it sounds like it is- a bong where the base is in the shape of a beaker. That hole looks like it would be a carb hole, which is stupid if you have a GonG removable bowl. It might also be a hole to put water in or to drain it, could be a hole to pour cleaning solution in. The keck isn't supposed to attach the bowl and down stem together, it's supposed to attach the down stem and bong together. It's very bad to pull the down stem with the bowl, it's actually the most common way the break. Just keep the hole plugged and use the keck the correct way.

  3. here's an example of a beaker base. it just looks like a beaker. lol

the hole could just be a byproduct of the production method. if it doesnt look like it does anything then it probably isnt supposed to. it could also be a carb. i would just leave it plugged if i were you

and yes your not supposed to be taking the down stem out with every hit. thats why they make those clips so you dont pull it out by accident when you remove the bowl

Put the keck on the downstem and bong connection, so that when removing bowl downstem doesn't come with? Maybe? Not sure if that'll work....

If not then your "plugged hole" is supposed to be a carb.

Edit: Yes, the description on your link says it's a carb hole. Unplug it, place your thumb over it. Light herb, fill tube with smoke. Release thumb, inhale full tube of smoke.

  5. When I put the keck on, and pull it out, the downstem comes out with the bowl, it just connect the downstem and the bowl..

  6. it should connect the downstem to the bong and the bowl should be free

  8. Ok it probably is a carb hole, I can unplug it, and plug it back whenever.

As for the keck, why does it connect the downstem and bowl..

There's no way to pull the bowl out with the keck on without pulling the downstem out.

  9. You don't pull the bowl, wow I've been smoking my bong wrong this whole time rofl.

  10. see how this guy has his? you pull the bowl out while the downstem stays secure

  11. My keck doesn't fit anywhere else except around the bowl and downstem, which connects it all as one, guessing you don't pull the bowl and only uncover the carb hole.

  12. That's correct.
    Unusual, but correct.

  13. Ya, I'll be honest, that's just a stupidly designed bong. It's no offense to you man, I just don't see why they would do glass on glass shit and put a carb. It's just stupid. Same with having the keck connect to bowl and downstem. That almost makes it a glorified grommet bong.

  14. No clue...
It's a sweet bong though hits like a champ, I just pull the bowl without the keck on it.
