need help with lighting

    I have a 7 foot by 2 1/2 foot closet with a 8 ft celling for my grow room. I want to get a hps but i am not sure what watt hps would be good for that much space. What would be a good number of plants for in their? Does anyone know a good site to purchase a hps. Thanks any help would be great.

    8 ft ceiling? Nice and high. Couldn´t you make that two storeys of plants?

    Do you want to fill that space with as many plants as possible? You have over 17 sq ft, you could get a dozen or more plants in there. The more plants you have the stronger light you need to cover out towards the side walls. If you are filling that closet up with plants then you would need a 1000w light, but then you will have heat issues to deal with. Best answer may be to grow 5-6 plants with a 400w light and not use the whole space.

    400's are the way to go man, or 2 250's
