today i found this small glass vase, and thought it would make for a cool little bong, so i went online and found a 14mm glass downstem but i dont know what type or size drill bit i should get. i was going to use a rubber grommet too

Honestly I would just make it. Get a cork or a rubber plug big enough to fit the opening, poke 2 holes in it. 1 for the funnel and downpipe and 1 for the hose. stick a pipe onto either a bought funnel/bowl or like a 1/2" socket and stick the bad boy through, you can get tubing for the hose from places like home depot. If you want to buy something like that just search around bong sites, most of them will have em, if ur having trouble finding 1 let me know ill look through my links and find it

There is a much easier way to do this. Buy 1. Purchase the correct downstem; such as this. Or anything like it. 2. Get a corresponding drill bit (for the downstem listed above, you need this.) Can be found at a hardware store, but this is the cheapest 3. Get a bowl piece. For the downstem, you will need any 18mm glass bowl. This can be purchased at your local head shop. 4. Purchase a 5/8 inch grommet. Can be found at any hardware store. Build 1. Place the vase in a sink secured by a towel, with the faucet running water over where you want to drill 2. Drill a 5/8 inch hole wherever you want the bowl to sit 3. Rinse out, and place grommet in the hole 4. Wet the downstem, and slide into the grommet 5. Place the bowl into the downstem All that's left, is to smoke!
First bro, practice drilling holes in other glass bottles, so you don't learn not to do something when drilling the vase that you don't want to break. Don't learn the hard way on your vase.
