So Im Makin a Stealth Grow Box thats 2 Feet Tall And 2 Feet wide thats what i have to work with for now its small but its all i have for the moement. This is what i have For My Grow Box 1. 2 Feet Tall , 2 Feet Wide Box 2. 3 100-Watt Equivalent Cfl's 3. Digital Timer For Cfl,s 4. Aluminum Foil for Reflective Light 5. 2 80mm fans for intake and outake air I want to grow 2 Party Cups at a time but want to keep Them Short i was thinkin of Doing 12/12 from seed and Probobly to LST Them to. Like Around How much Yield will I Get? and how tall Will Plants grow? Trying to keep them Under 2 feet MAX. I know i Wont get much Yield but if i get atleast 5 Grams per plant its alright well lets just hope for the Best. They are BAG SEEDS..
I'd start hunting for an outdoor location for when it warms back up. IMO, 2 ft. Plants are a high risk and low reward (if your in an illegal state). Wait until you have enough loot/privacy to do it inside. Learn all you can until then!
when the lamp box states equivalent watts it means equivalent to incandescent lamps. incandescent lamps are not suitable for growing plants so their equivalent watts is moot. I'm guessing they are about 20-25watts then? are you sure you can't get more in? I'm assuming your box is not two dimensional? lol. what's the other measurement? knowing your canopy area is an important factor of working out how much light you need to be using. you may want to consider a bigger fan. you can use computer fans to exhaust but a 4" inline extractor can be bought for £10 and it will make it so much easier to control your temperature. plus it will help greatly if you get a carbon filter later on for 2ft of height you will need to ScrOG it, no question really
oh and with 60-70watts of cfl and everything done right with no big cock ups you should easily pull half oz total
I read in a number of articles that you shouldn't use aluminum foil. It creates hot spots and can burn your plants. Plus is not as reflective as people think, it is used to mainly keep heat in, or so i read. Now you say you have been using it for a while, so now im confused, good to know you have had no problems though.
I have read it many times too but I'm skeptical of everything I read. I don't use foil, I don't think I ever have, I meant my store bought reflectors are aluminum. I think all reflectors are. the surface of them must be the same. unless light passes through foil perhaps if its thin enough. I don't think he needs to worry about hot spots though, he's using cfls
You are right about the shades, i use these and love them...PowerPlant Lumatek Adjust-A-Wing Lighting System I was thinking about jumping on to LEDs but my mate said he wasn't impressed with them. He actually took them out of his room and put the HPS lights back in.
Well im thinkin of probobly gettin mylar or using an emergency blanket since its like Mylar very shiny and im goin to be using 3 cfls for the 2 feet tall, 2 feet wide box the cfls are 23 watts each so the total in the box would be 69 and im adding another 23 watt soon. But what will you guys recommend for flowering how many watts for that and what kind of cfls?
you can get 125 watt cfl shade, you get a white bulb for veg and a orange bulb for flower. High Output CFL Systems - Green's Horticulture This is UK but just look around where you are, you will find them.
Ill use 4 23 watt cfls that equal 92 watts total for veg then about a 100 watts for flowering with soft white cfls (2700k) would that be fine? Would i get a descent yield? Imma veg for a month or a lil more 2 months tops and then flower
its 2' wide x 2' tall, but what is the other dimension? the canopy area needs to be known to work out how much light you need. if the canopy is 2x2 your plants will struggle with just 3x 23w cfls, that not even one per square foot. 3 or 4 of those per square foot is what you want really. but if you cant do that just install as many as you can. be sure too keep the canopy within a few inches of the bulbs
