So I went to my local Lowes yesterday and spent an hour looking at soil and lighting and good stuff like that. My last and final questions are does anyone have a pic of a light in there box that they can post or find one online? All the lights on here that I have been seeing are ones I look for at lowes but I see low wattage not anything close to 6000 or 7000 and they are all mostly fluorscent. And what simple soil can I get for my plants, I am only looking to grow 1 or 2 for now so I want one with good nutrients and other things to make the plant grow healthy. Thanks!
You need to read the grow guides and sticky posts to learn more, you do not want soil with added nutrients. Any organic soil mix without added ferts will do. For the higher wattage CFLs try the security lighting section. I am not familiar with the lights at Lowes, at Home Depot they are available in the security lighting area which is separate from the regular lightbulb section.
I think you have things confused. You want your bulbs to be in the 6400K color temperature while they're in veg. Maybe that's where you're getting the 6000-7000 number. For wattage you want to get some 20 - 40 watt bulbs depending on the type of cfl you're using.
