Ok so I bought a new 1000w switchable ballast about 4 months ago and now Im having some issues with the set up. I dont know what it could be. I took the ballast back to the store i got it from and they took it apart and its perfect inside. At the same time i got a hood and a 1000w mh bulb. I switched the ballast over a couple days ago and the light stayed on for 30 min and then went off, I unplugged it and plugged it back in 15 min later. It stayed on for 15 min and went off again. While the ballast was in the shop I hooked up the bulb to another mobile socket and ballast and it worked fine. Does anyone have any idea on what may be the issue. Thanks for the help
maybe a bad capacitor, or poor house wiring. Could be a number of things have an electrician look at it instead of the hydro shop dude.
You have to isolate each part of the "chain" to see where the failure is. Could be in the ballast, could be the wiring to the socket or in the socket, could be the bulb.
