Need help trying to find this word!!

    Okay im writing a paper on Ogden Nash a poet and im trying to figure out what the word is for a word that sounds like a word but isn't a word. I know kinda confusing but heres an example... "And it is what you are doing when you are doing something that you oortant," oortant when talking outloud sounds like oughtant.

    like ought not. oughtn't maybe? thats a real word. i could see how you are perplexed
