Hi all, This is my first grow and I'm planning to stick a cab i can lock in my closet so I can avoid as much unwanted speculation as possible. My closet are the dimensions as shown in the attached picture. I really don't mind using up the whole closet, but I have no idea what type of cab to get. I believe the more pressing question would be how to section it off in terms of clone, veg, and flower. I also have yet to determine which system of growing i want (soil, hydro, or aero)...but I am leaning towards a hydro system. Any hydro setup of these dimensions, like plans for instance, would be helpful. Also I want this to very stealth so I'm going to install a carbon filter most likely...but what should i do about the heat. It is going to be in a closet and there are no vents nearby... =/ Comments/Suggestions very welcome!
maybe u can fit 3-4 plants in dere, stick with flouresents, they produce less heat. use a white latex based paint for the walls(could help reflect light) use weatherstripping between and around the doors if u want it to be almost smellproof im not exacly sure how much watts you need. on the back of a clothes dryer, you should have a big white or silver ventilation tube, try making a hole in the door and putting that, and get enough so that it cold go to a window, and put a fan in dere. thats what id do also depends if your in an apartment building or a house, if its a house, use my ventialtion idea, and if you live in an apartment building i dont know what to do. it also depends on how much money your willing to spend, dont be suprised if its over $500+
Like i said i was thinking i would actually stick a large cab in my closet, so if it were to be just opened people would see a closet for storage or something of the sorts. As for space i have 6+ square feet or space and 30+ cubic feet of space because of the 5' height, so I thought I would be able to use at least a 150-250W HPS in one area of it. Also like i mentioned I want this to be stealth so I really dont want to cut a hole in a door and stretch a vent pipe to the window if thats what you were suggesting =/
build a growbox or buy a cabinet that will fit in there make it something like 1.7ftx1ftx5ft so then you could have one for flower and one for veg and in the veg cab you could section off a little place for a mother/clones but that means buying 2 lights but for veg and clones you could use cfls
you might have ventaltion problems with a 250 watt hps so get some fans atleast taking all the hot air out of the growbox and then try to get a fan drawing in air from outside of the closet if possible. If i were you i would just hang a 250watt hps in the closet and put a lock on the closet and lightproof the doors with innertubes of bike tires.
Yea i was planning on the growbox. The reason I dont want to use the whole closet is because I have no way of locking that closet door, and I dont want someone to come in look at a locked door, and be like...wtf is this? It would be even worse since its not locked and was just opened >.< So yea a cab growbox is a good idea, if anyone can suggest a certain cab that would be useful, and the dimensions to section it off. What types of lights do you use for clones, I know its MH for veg and HPS for flower. I assume there are smaller lights u can for mainting the clones till you want to veg em? Thanks
