I started 10 plants 3 weeks ago and another set of 10 plants 2weeks ago and both sets are getting real sick real quick. They went from bad to worse in the last 24 hours of me posting this. The leaves are turning yellow and are starting to droop, a couple of them are drooping very bad to the point I dont know if theyll make it. At 1st it was the older set but now the newer ones are doin it too. My water PH is 7.77. The Burpee pellet soil seemed to be drying out fast so Ive been watering them more often. Also, Im taking all the older plants out tonight and putting them in 5" Jiffy Pots. When I took them out of the cells the roots were def. needing more room to breath. The older plants are just starting to get the 3rd set of true leaves and it seems to be affecting the lower/bigger leaves. I did sprinkle alittle Espoma Plant-Tone plant food that came w/ the Burpee Tray about 1 1/2 weeks ago to all of them and the sicknes started about 3-4 days ago. Please help.
pH is to high... are they all in jiffy pots (soilless mix) if so u need to feed them and a soilless mix is considered hydroponics, so ur pH needs to be around 5.5-6.0 in veg i like to keep my pH at 6.0 then flower at 5.8
then the pH should be 6.0-7.0 corect the pH before u start to feed, the high pH is causing a lock-out, so food may be available but the plant is unable to up take. also u can give them light bloom food w/ only P-K in it, studies show that nitrogen during the seedling phase will increase males, and lack of N will increase females. good luck
What is P - K? The only thing I have right now is FloraNova. Its a 7-4-10 solution. Nitrogen,Phosphate,Potash. Do you think its ok to use this? Also how many times a day or days should I be watering them? and should I water them every time w/ the FloraNova or water seperately w/ just reg. H2o? Also, all the seeds I bought are femenized. phosphorus and potassium (p-k) only during the first couple weeks of the seedlings life and a very light feeding. then its on to a grow formula, u can do a light feeding every watering, or a heavy one ever few waterings its up to u, the bottles usually has a chart to follow
Ok, so i shouldnt use this FloraNova cuz it has Nitrogen & Potash in it right? Ill go tomm to find something w/ only P-K. Can you tell me, w/ a good PH, how many times a day I should be watering these plants? They seemed to be doin fine and then the soil started drying up alot quicker for some reason even tho I was watering them the same.
Yeah thats what I did tonight when I transferred them to 5" pots from the Tray. Sorry if I sound ignorant but its my 1st grow and Im really trying to make sure I get everything right. Do you think watering 2 or 3 times a day is to much? Im sure it will be alot longer now w/ the bigger pots plus mixing the soil w/ Perlite. Do you have any other suggestions before I go to sleep? Im goin to the store 1st thing when I wake up to buy the P-K solution. Is there anything else I should do or buy? Again, thanx alot for your help, youve been a big help.
if u want... just dont give them to much when u foliar it will burn the leaves. its a good way to stop the deficiency, when u foliar do it at 6.0 pH
