  1. A friend of mine left town about a day ago said his seeds just germinated. i was stuck at work all day so i couldnt get to them and he had to leave. its been about two days since germination i have no money, and all i could find was a crusty old pot with what looks like fertilized soil really dried up...

my two questions are 1. what can i use in my house for a light source (its cloudy today so i cant just put it on the deck) 2. ive never transplanted before how hard is it (future refference its a really small pot)

    thanks in advance!

  2. less than 10 bucks will get you bag of soil at wal mart or menards etc. as far as light source you need flouros at least 1 light per plant. and transplanting is easy as long as you are careful. i am no expert but mj isn't as fragile as your brain is leading you to believe. good wet warm soil hope this helps some

Clean or wash the pot out as best you can. If it had fertilizer in it you don't want any residue left over from it. Fill it up with soil and moisten it. What I do is if it has drain holes on the bottom, I wet it till water starts dripping out. Then I let it sit for about 10 or 15 minutes to drain good. Than take a pencil and make a hole about 1/4 deep. put the seed with the tap root facing down and lightly cover it with the soil. Then take a baggie, zip lock bag, saran wrap, something like that and put it over the pot. That will help hold in the moisture till it pops the surface. Take the baggie or whatever you use off when that happens. You don't really need a light source until it sprouts although it wouldn't hurt. I put it under my fluros. But you def do when that happens. And DON'T OVER WATER! You don't want to soak it everyday. Once the soil starts looking a little dry, feel down with your finger a little bit. If it feels really moist then you prob don't need to water. But if it don't feel real moist give it a drink of room temp water till you see water run out of the bottom. (assuming it has drainage holes). The soil needs to stay moist. Not dry, not soaked. You don't need to water it everyday.

Hope this helps. Good luck man.

  4. If you buy wal mart soil, get Supersoil, not Miracle Gro:D

  5. Good advice up above. With cleaning pots, I always mix up 1:4 ratio of bleach with hot water and soak the pots for a half-hour or so. Then I take a scrub brush and scrub it good, rinse, then wash with dish soap on a sponge, and rinse again, then done. Same way I do my pots with my veggies.
