So my left eye has always been a lot weaker then my right. To the point to where im barely able to pass vision tests like to drive and operate machinery and stuff. And I've accepted the fact that I'm an inch away from being blind in one eye but my left eye "wonders" or is "lazy" as most people call it and if you still don't understand my right eye looks straight and only sometimes my left eye goes to the left. And I was wondering if anyone knew a way to correct it or at least help it some with out surgery or anything. Because honestly I'm pretty self conscious about it.
Well I can see well enough to drive and stuff. Surgery would be good but its considered a "luxury" surgery so insurance won't pay for it and I sure ain't got the thousands of dollars to pay for it.
you can probably get contacts for your bad eye, as for the lazy eye id just deal with it man, ive heard it doesnt impair vision but i could be wrong about that
The doctor I see for my eyes strongly disagrees with the idea of contacts. She said contacts have a higher infection rate and and shit like that and told me as bad as my left eye is I shouldn't risk anything happening to my right eye
And as for the lazy eye well it just sort of throws me off like with meeting new people or chicks at a bar and stuff ya know? Always feel like people notice it.
Become a pirate and rock the eye patch. Honestly i wouldnt worry, i hear women find a lazy, blind, drifting eye sexy as fuck. Read that in Cosmo, i think.
No way dude. Haha. Being 40% blind in one eye And having one eye drift away from eye contact with a girl is sexy. Sorry I gotta call bull shit. Lol
@[member="Fizzly"] not to be a smart ass but I clearly posted I had been to a doctor. Maybe you should read a thread before you post in it.
People who have a "go-funny eye" (Archie Bunker) look retarded. Us other people are not sure which eye is looking at us, and we're never sure of which eye to look at while conversing. I read on the internet (so I would totally trust it) that one can easily correct this by sticking a fish hook on the lazy side and pulling the eyeball over. Leave the fish hook in for a couple of days, then the muscles will accept the change and you'll be fine. Oh, don't forget to file the barb off first so you can get the hook out without destroying your eye.
Oh yeah. I point out that you missed something in my post and you imply I look retarded and that I should put a fish hook in my eye. You sir are obviously awesome.
Actually I did read that, but it didn't sink in and I was more or less responding to the OP. It seems to me I've heard people say that there are things (meds? glasses?) that one can try first before submitting to surgery. Doctors are SUPPOSED to try conservative therapies first. Surgeons love to do surgeries (who knew?) because they think they can always correct everything, and they often gloss over possible risks. Maybe you should get a second opinion before doing anything. If it's not too late, forget about the idea with the fish hook. I just read that it doesn't always work.
Oh no too late now. It didn't work so I just had to rip it out. I am using it as bait in the creek next to my house now. I might be partially blind but at least I'll catch a cat fish for dinner tonight.
I have a slight lazy eye and an eye condition that affects the muscles that control my eye alignment. There are corrective exercises you can try, but they won't produce amazing results. It's more of a strengthening exercise. Look up "pencil push-ups". I occasionally suffer from diplopia (double vision) and I use these exercises to help with control. My wife works in eye care and performs cataract and glaucoma surgeries. I'll ask her later today what your best options are. She is working with one of the lead specialists in NY state. He's been a great resource to me and my friends and family.
