Recipe Need help making edibles

  1. Hello, i am going to be making butter with 1 oz of some good weed for upcoming 420. I am a heavy smoker been smoking for 8 years about an oz a week for last 4, and smoke about a half a week 3 years before that. I ate a 200mg hifi edible from cali that did not phase me at all and smoke about a quarter of dabs a week as well. I want to make the most potent butter cookies and or brownies. Does anybody have a good recpie. Or any ideas please and thank you

    We here at the city have found this to be pretty much spot on for potent fucking edibles. Dosage, decarb, edibles, in that order.

    Dosage. Most users get off on a quarter of a gram of decarbed ganja with heavy users needing about half of a gram of decarbed ganja. So an 1/8th to a 1/4er of dank nugs per 12 brownies, cookies, slices of cake or pie, et, etc. Yes there is math, no it isn't important if you don't know the exact THC content, even if you did the above dosage still stands. Fuck math...

    Decarbing. What the fuck is it and why do I give any fucks about it? Because decarbing is activating THC for eating. Wanna get high? Decarb your shizzle my nizzle! 240*F for 40 minutes. That's the magic. Seriously it isn't rocket science...

    Edibles and using decarbed ganja is fucking easy mode. Grind it fine and add it to any recipe and mutha-fuggin bam! Edibles. Adding your decarbed ganja to the oil the recipe calls for and letting it steep over low heat (220*F oven for 20 minutes) gets the cannabinoids to bind to fats. Fats get digested first because fucking energy. You can add 1/2 tspn of lecithin per 3.5 grams (1/8th) of ganja and it will also boost your edibles. It works like this, fatty oil (like coconut) helps edibles hit far faster and lecithin helps them hit far harder. It works, I shit you not!@!

    How to?
    Preheat oven to 240*F. Clean up the ganja, remove the lumber and leave it chunky, throw it on foil and seal it up, throw that in the oven for 40 minutes, Pull it out and let cool, its ready to grind fine. I poke a small hole in the foil to release the steam as its decarbing in the oven. It comes out drier and so mixes far better.

    Decarbed ganja looks dark brown to almost burnt, is crumbly dry and smells fucking terrible. When you have that, you'll drop the decarbed ganja into a Mason jar and grind it to powder with a spoon, add lecithin (I like powdered sunflower lecithin), add the fatty oil the recipe calls for (coconut, butter, whatever), mix well and mix into the recipe. Now bake it and enjoy. Boxed brownie and cookie recipes work perfect.

    To make something more concentrated you just add more decarbed ganja. What I learned was to decarb (240*F for 40 minutes) an ounce of dank, grind fine, mix into a 1/2 cup of coconut oil, add 2 tspn lecithin, mix well, back into a 220*F oven for 20 minutes, freeze it for a few hours, back into a 220*F oven for 20 minutes, freeze it one last time for a few hours, thaw and use!

    Dosage would be something like 96 doses at a quarter of a gram or 48 doses at half of a gram in that 1/2 cup of oil. So each quarter of a teaspoon has a quarter of a gram of decarbed ganja. Knowing that you could mix say 3 tspn of medicated oil into any recipe and it would equate to 12 doses, 12 brownies. 12 cookies, 12 slices of pie, 12 pieces of what ever.

    I am really high off of the oil I just made so redo the math a few times to double check me lol.. but basically its 12 doses per 1/8th × 8 = 96 1/4er gram doses per ounce of ganja / into the amount of oil you'll be using (I use a 1/2 cup of coconut oil per ounce of decarbed ganja personaly)

    Go easy on fresh edibles until you know how they will effect you. You don't want to eat to much to be honest because it can make you Ill. I too am a heavy user and 3/4er of a gram is my couch lock dose, 1/2 gram for a completely hammered dose and a 1/4er of a gram for a functional but still baked kind of experience. My good friend L snakes a lot but a 1/4er of a gram sends him into giggle fits and mumble speech lol. Seriously though, it can make you sick for days, dizzy, nausea, vomiting, spaced out and hung over. So go easy and remember, you can always eat a little more but you can't uneat it once it's in your system.

    Post decarb. Dark almost burnt, completely dried up, mutha fuckin stanky, PERFECT! I use a 20$ Wally world toaster oven. I dial the temp in with an oven thermometer.

    Soupy, dark, gloriously potent, medicated cannaoil!! I nuked it for 20 seconds to melt it down, stirred well, ground it up a little more, then froze it, then I'm gonna heat it at 220*F for 20 minutes, then I'll freeze it again, then I'll heat it again at 220*F for twenty minutes and its ready to use.

    I'll use this like it is. Just take a tspn at a time and wait an hour. If I need more it's another tspn and another hour. When I hit my sweet spot I can then set my perfect dose. Hope this helps. I'm pretty fucking naked right now but I'm pretty sure my info is correct lol. Measure twice, do once broski!

  3. There are a few guiding principles to keep in mind:
    (1) Decarbing the herb @240 F for 40 min (in air, not in oil) with a verifying thermometer activates it to become as potent as it can be. This is by far the most important step, and it's easy to mess up.
    (2) Absolutely no infusion into anything is needed. Just eating the herb with some oily food will get you medicated.

    (3) Additional heat begins to degrade thc, but when immersed in oil or other food, the degradation is very slow.
    (4) Grinding the decarbed herb to powder and mixing it into the oil of any recipe will produce maximum potency edibles. All whole herb recipes that don't apply too much additional heat to the decarbed herb will be about equally potent.
    (5) Making strained oils/butter loses about half the THC to the straining process. Cooking with whole herb instead gets 100% of the THC, but at the cost of slight herb taste.

    (6) The only safe, easily obtainable (for some of us) home solvent that can efficiently extract cannabinoids, while eliminating much (but not all) of the herb taste is 190 proof ethanol alcohol. It can be used to eventually get the essence of the herb into some baking oil, but at the cost of much extra effort and money.

    People have trouble believing that edibles are really this simple.

    You can try this whole herb method with tiny amounts of herb to convince yourself it works, even 0.5 gram. Decarb, grind to powder, mix with nutella, and eat.

    Some people apply additional heat to an herb/oil mixture to soften up the herb, add lecithin, or freeze.

  6. The problem with just eating some decarbed weed with some oily food is that your body has to break down all that green stuff to get all the good stuff out. So it takes longer to effect you. Do you need to? No. Should you? I dunno, wanna get baked in 45 minutes or an hour and a half?

    As far as lecithin goes, it comes down to how hard you want your edibles to hit. Want them to slowly creep up or do you want a mule kick to the head?

    As far as straining goes, yup you lose some of the cannabinoids when you strain but sometimes you don't want gritty shit or a heavy decarbed ganja taste and smell. So you use more decarbed ganja (about 25% more) and strain it out. You can eat the sludge in caps or peanut butter but it might upset your stomach and give you the shits.

    OP, just get the decarb down and then you'll be making all sorts of kick ass edible yummyness. The decarb is the magical step. 240*F for 40 minutes is the actual magic. Longer times or higher heat results in more CBD in your edibles and is why others like BrassNwooD add additional heating to the medicated oil they make. It gives a deep couch lock feeling.
     
  7. Lmfao - awesome post. Question: when I do cannabutter I stew the decarbed weed woth butter and water for a couple of hours. Do you know how the lecithin might react in that situation if I add to the stew? Or would I add that in when I actually use the butter after it separates from the water?

  8. No water, no boiling, none of that. It literally goes like this brotato chip...
    1) Weigh out and clean up your ganja, leaving it chunky.
    2) put it on foil and seal it up, then throw it in a 240*F oven for 40 minutes, remove and let cool.
    3) dump the cooled, decarbed ganja into a Mason jar, use a spoon and grind it fine. Bam!! Its ready for use. That's it, mission accomplished... or is it?
    4) add 1/2tspn of lecithin per 3.5 grams of ganja and mix with just enough coconut oil to make it soupy, mix it well and continue to grind it fine with the spoon. Fuck ya, ass kicking destruction and we are done!!! Or are we?
    5) heat at 220*F for 20 minutes, freeze it solid for a few hours to over night, heat at 220*F for 20 minutes, freeze it for a few more hours to over night, thaw and use. The freezing breaks all the cells and shut down breaking things up. The heat gives a CBD bite for that couch lock effect.

    Then just add enough of your medicated oil to any recipe. An 1/8th (3.5 grams) is enough for 12 edibles and most users will get pretty fucked up. You could use a 1/4er (7 grams) to make 12 edibles that are twice as strong but remember, you can always eat more if you're not feeling it in an hour and a half.

    That's pretty much it blade. Once you make concentrated medicated oil you can make any thing. Steeping the ganja in fatty oil and using lecithin give absolutely fan-fucking-tastic results, it cannot be discounted!

  9. And I use the oil just as it is. What I made last night was 8 grams of dank ass nuggage (a gram over a 1/4er) decarbed, ground fine, 1/2 cup coconut oil, 1tspn lecithin, mix well, heat, freeze, heat, freeze, thaw and use. Just take one or 2 tspns at a time as needed. I keep it an a Mason jar with a lid in a cool dark cabinet. It is good at least for 4 months even though I normally use it all with in a couple weeks usually.
     
  10. Broo pls help. I spent two days and wasted 160 plus worth of weed trying to do the boil water, butter method. You sound really sure of yourself so could you walk me through your recipe using 8 grams of bud. I will say that my tolerance is hella high for smoking but half an edible will have me feeling nice for 4 hours. They were edibles I got from cali so i dont know the percentage. Anywho pls help bro..thx
