not a big fan of sg444, has almost as many things i wouldn't want in a mix as i would want from it.... but i agree that and water should do it.

If you can grab some kelp meal and some FF Marine Cuisine.(BAD ADVICE)
    CRAB MEAL!

  8. You need to look at organic soil like this, as there is no limit as to the various recipes anybody can come up with that are all perfectly fine -

Base: basically peat or coco, used to provide mass for roots to hold onto.
Humus: basically compost and/or worm castings, used for the bacterial/fungal content.
Aeration: used to make sure the soil will drain and not hold too much water.
Fertilizer: can be any of a number of organic items such as seed meals, kelp meal, bone meals, whatever. As these break down they provide your plant with nutrition.

Follow these basic guidelines and your soil will work just fine.

  9. Thanks..do i have to let my mix sit for a month or is it ready to use, i was checking youtude & when they make a mix they let it sit

  10. Unfortunatly yes, If you put a plant into the soil with fresh ammendments while they are still "Cooking" the ph of your soil can drop super low... like down to 4... Plants dont like that. I made that mistake once.. twice... maybe even thrice...

  11. Plan ahead.

  12. And stop watching people mix up Rev's soil on youtube!

  13. gotta learn somewhere

  14. Definitely ditch the Marine Cuisine. There's a couple solid organic ingredients in there to throw you off from all the synthetic crap that comes after Kelp Meal

  15. I got some Granular Gupsum, if i add some to my mix will that screw with my ph

  16. Just cycle the soil for an extra week, apply lightly like 1/4 cup per cf.

Sent from my HaGGarD ass phone......fap

  17. Since this is your first mix, do yourself a favor and plan ahead as to your ratios of this and that before you just start mixing willy nilly. You don't want to overdo or under-do anything. Follow any of the basic recipes around here as far as ratios go and you should be ok.

Somebody mentioned kelp meal - get some.

  18. I forget why but I have in my notes to stay clear of any organic plant food fertilizers containing any form of cottonseed meal.

  19.
Because Cotton isn't food, so the amount of pesticides they can apply is painful, leaving a well coated shell as your amendment.

    I would keep these:

    PRO-MIX HP and BX
    COCO
    EARTHWORM CASTINGS
    COW MANURE
    PERLITE & VERMICULITE
    MOLASSES
    BONE MEAL. 4-10-0
    BLOOD MEAL. 12-0-0
    MEXICAN BAT GUANO. 10-1-1

\nI would not use or add any of these to your soil:
    \n\nMARINE CUISINE. TIME RELEASED. 10-7-7
ingredients in the Marine Cuisine: Cotton Seed Meal, Blood Meal, Earthworm Castings, Fish Meal, Crab Meal, Shrimp Meal, Bat Guano, Seabird Guano, Kelp Meal, Urea, Ammonium Sulfate, Triple Superphosphate, Potassium Sulfate, Potassium Chloride, Ferrous Sulfate, Iron Sucrate, Manganese Sucrate.
    \nGROW BIG & BIG BLOOM
    \n\nSUPER GROW MIX. 4-4-4
ingredients in the SuperGrow Mix: Canola Meal, Cottonseed Meal, Blood & Feather Meal, Bone Meal, Rock Phosphate, Langbeinite, Kelp Meal, Green Sand.

RARE EARTH - Silicate with granular leonardite
\n\n\nI would use my money on/lack of money on, I found most of mine uber cheap)
    Kelp meal.
    Liquid Kelp.
sul-po-mag (langbeinite) instead of the epsom salts because of the addition of the potassium with the sulfur and magnesium.
some rust ( I used nails and water)
some zinc ( I found powdered zinc)
some clay pounded up and screened.
some pounded up rocks, marble, granite, quartz (homes for fungal strands, and microminerals content)
ground wood, yes, in spite of the argument, ground woods from my local.
    fir needles, same argument.
50lbs alfalfa nuggets for horses, pellets. (makes a good nitrogen rich tonic for vegging plants, and good compost if you are able)
compost. good compost. this is largely your source for bacteria et al, and micronutrients. Making it is kind of fun actually. Lazy woman's science.
