  1. Ok I am growind indoors using a light that is not typically used. Just regular light bulb and my plant is healthy as an ox. Its 2 and 1/2 ft Tall.
It started growing in August and has been for 6 months. Hasnt started budding yet or is it time to try to force it to bud and how do i go about doing that?

  2. 12/12 light cycle

  3. 12/12 cycle ok thanx. How long of that before it starts to bud. And ive hear ppl say clip the top is there any truth in that?

  4. Sorry but your plant isn't healthy as an ox. I can tell because it's been growing for 6 months and it is only 2 1/2 feet tall. With a 6 month time period you should be about to finish flowering a second round of plants. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you need some better lights or you'll be in for a very disappointing harvest my friend. That is, if your plant isn't already stretched out beyond any point of continuing to grow it. Some pics would be helpful. Who knows, maybe I'm completely wrong about your plant. And if by regular light bulb you mean an incandescent, then the only worse light you could pick to grow with would be a halogen. Incandescents aren't suitable for growing at all.

  5. It's growing very slowly if it's been hanging around for 6 months and is only 2.5 feet tall. Weed is called weed because well, it grows like a weed. Plants can shoot up a few inches in a day or two.

I'd figure out a way to up your lighting. If nothing else, get a couple cheap desk lamps at your local Goodwill, and get some cfl's to put in them.

  6. Well its probably more like 3 1/2 to 4 ft tall. Also what do yo mean by stretched out? Bear with me man im a newbie. Its done flowering and the light has made it grow well and he stem is really really thick so it looks healthy to me again im a newbie

  7. Also for a 6 month period how tall should a plant be??

  8. Lol no worries, the newbies are the reason I'm here. Trying to help people grow some quality plants. By stretched out I mean a tall plant, but that only has a few nodes on it where leaves grow out from the stem. What do you mean it's done flowering? You just said you were going to switch it to 12/12 to induce budding. Budding is flowering. The thing is, you shouldn't have a 6 month old plant. You should have started flowering it at least 3 months ago. Post some pics if you can. We also need to know what kind of light you're using (is it a regular incandescent?) and how many watts it is.

  9. Just a regular light bulb you would use in a lamp but has been doing well. Mixing that in with some sunlight through the windows near the plant. And also it does have many nodes where the leaves are coming out of the stem. So does that mean its near budding??

  10. It will begin the budding process when you flip the lights to 12/12. That's how mj plants know when to flower. They begin receiving less light in their day. They need to be in complete darkness for the entire 12 hour dark period. Even if you did manage to some how grow a nice plant through veg with an incandescent bulb, you will NOT get any decent buds from it during flowering. 1. It's the wrong light spectrum. 2. It will not be bright enough in the least. If you don't at least get 1 decent red spectrum CFL (with a parabolic reflector) on your plant during flowering, I'm sure you'll have fun harvesting your joint in two months.

  11. Wow, after six months it went from 2.5 ft to 4 ft overnight!

There is a reason people don't use household incandescent bulbs to grow MJ. I seriously doubt your plant is doing well, how about posting some pics?

  12. Thank you guys for all the info it was very helpfull. Sounds like next time i need to start it off the way you described. Its a learning process i know. I wont make the same mistake twice!!

  13. How large is this pot? Is this plant getting any ventilation? I reccomend using a timer as well.

  14. you might be alright man, just get rid of that bulb and put about 4 100 watt equivalent CFL bulbs (the twisty lookin ones). The actual wattage on each one should be about 23 to 26 watts. This brings you up to the standard minimum which is about 100 watts actual wattage per plant. 6 of these bulbs would be even better.

  15. Thank you everyone. And thank you to Downshift for the hope!! The pot is about 5 gallons btw. Any other input would be greatly appreciated! Thanx
