Her growth has been very slow but didnt show any signs on leaves till today, is there anything I can do to help her or is she a goner?
That's a brand new baby seedling. And the cotyledon leaves (the first leaves to emerge from the seed) wouldn't show any symptoms if there was a problem. What's going on? Also, you can remove that seed coat.
the leaf tips dont look good, something in the general direction of nute burn or heat stress Id say. so either your ventilation sucks or your soil is too strongly fertilized (assuming that youre not yet applying fertilizer when watering!). either way its still an almost healthy seedling, you dont need to fear for its life.
There hasn't been any change in leaf color since she only has one set of true leaves. The first leaves to appear from the seed are called cotyledon leaves, and they aren't true leaves. Cotyledon leaves don't count, is what I'm saying. What colors are you seeing in the true leaves that concern you? Also, what kind of soil are you using?
look closer at the picture. the tips of the leaves are drying up. Im quite positive that its heat stress, for nute burn the color isnt dark enough.
I don't think it's nute burn either. The real action is happening in the soil, so it's always helpful to know what the composition of the soil mix is. Coco and 20% perlite should be a well draining mix, so no problems there. And you haven't given any fertilizer, have you? I really don't think there's a problem at all. Micah, are you less concerned knowing that the cotyledon leaves don't count and that the true leaves will always look different (diff color, etc.) than the cotyledons?
heat stress is not overfertilization, its when your ventilation doesnt match your lamps... >_> with coco and perlite there could also be a problem with not enough calcium, magnesium or a range of micronutrients, but Im pretty sure that shouldnt be a problem at such a young stage when the cotelydons are still kicking.
I'm going to have to disagree with the majority here because to me that is one sickly looking plant. and at 10 days old it's clearly stunted. if it isn't valuable genetics i would start again as your only losing 10 days and by the time you get this in top health you could have a new plant growing nicely. what nutrients are you using? if it's coco and perlite you will need to add nutes because coco and perlite are inert
I added a small amount of calmag and base nutes to the coco and perlite when i was making the mix. Not enough to burn it but enough to have some there for when it needs it. It sister plant next door isnt haveing any problems with the mix. It is a Top shelf seed so I would rather try to save it. to me it looks like the top leaves are starting to shrivel Edit: I'm using GH base nutes. floragrow floramicro florabloom. but I'm just feeding it ph water now
running 4 CFL atm for 2 babies. Its a closet grow. Not sure what the moisture level is atm I have a small bowl with water in there
I mean the moisture level of the soil, not the humidity of the air. If you've got CFLS it's very unlikely that it's heat stress. Does it feel too hot to your hand where the seedlings are? If not, they're just fine.
Hell yeah that growth is stunted ph is probably out of whack my profile pic is of my newest girl and she is 10 days old. She already has 3 sets of true leaves and is growin in hydroponics. Those leaves shld be larger than that. I wld say nutes if I had to say anything because u shldnt feed seedlings too much
Sorry wasnt thinking. I've been watering every couple days and the ph is around 6.0. I dont think its due to heat cause its not hot
if the other plant has the exact same conditions and is doing fine I guess it's just a bad seed. however to me it looks like nutrient or ph imbalance. are you sure you gave it the correct dosage? using between an eighth and a quarter strength solution for seedlings. sometimes it's best to feed seedlings on flower formula until they get going as its nitrogen overload is the most common problem when over fertilizing. dedicated seedling nutes are worth trying as the manufacturers state seedling dosage whereas most others dont. could the soil be too wet? are you letting it dry out a bit? watering every few days when a seedling is not growing sounds like your watering too much. my seedlings are watered as seeds and then probably aren't watered again for a week
