Need Financial Aid help!

  1. So at the beginning of this school year I was caught by the PoPo with MJ while driving. I believe it was a minor misdemeanor, and got my license revoked for 30 days. After which I had to take the drug written test (and passed), then had to pay for license reinstatement, etc.

Now, I am trying to apply for FAFSA and they ask the question, "Have you been convicted of the possession or sale of illegal drugs and the offense occurred while you were receiving federal student aid (grants, loans, and/or work-study)?"
My answer to this question has to be Yes I assume? But the second question asks if it has been removed from your record and I am not sure what to put.
Anyone know how long that this would stay on my record in Minnesota?

P.S. Didn't (for obvious reason) report to FAFSA after I got my conviction, contrary to what they suggest. Is this going to be bad?

  2. No, but they might be more strict on punishment if you get caught for weed again. Maybe call up your school office and ask what they have on their record. If it says your clean, then put that down, jsut make sure your school information actually matches the FAFSA info. Earlier this year (freshman) I made the mistake of putting my salary was over 100,000, which was my parents salary infact, this meant that i got almost 0 money and I hate to take out loans and then everything was late. Its just a hassle, if you need to lie to get it done with then do it, just make sure it makes you look better and not worse.

  3. To what question were you referring to when you said, "No..."?
I just said screw it and decided to lie as you suggested :) Getting some serious dough because my rents had a negative net income this year :)
