Need feedback

  1. So I am new to growing and I am kind of just looking for some feedback on how I have done so far. I kind of have a ghetto grow going in my closet. I started my plant on September 1st 2012 and I have it growing under 3 42 watt cfl lights which emit 2700 lumens a piece. I am using organic soil a buddy gave me and I was giving it Bonnie's plant food which is 8-5-5 during its veg stage and I am giving it a nutrient that is called bloom for the flowering stage which is 0-5-4. I add about a cap of each nutrient to a gallon of water and feed my plant with that once a week then a cup of water every other day. I also have a heater and a fan setup with my plant. I usually keep it around 70 degrees. It's getting to close to the end of my first grow and the big fan leaves at the top of the plant are pointed down and they have white spots on the tips and some leaves are turning brown in spots. I checked the soil ph and he nutrient levels and they seem ok so I'm not sure the problem. Could it be a magnesium deficiency? Any help toward my next grow would be helpful considering I plan on cloning her when she is done. I will add pics and you will notice the leaves facing down. Ill also add a pic of the products I'm using for nutrients. Like I said any advice helps. I want more buds on my next grow.

  2. You said your nearing the end right? Most plants, near the end of flower stage do this. The fan leaves are Nitrogen banks, when you see them turn brown they are depositing all the nitro they can towards bud. Then a day or two later those same fan leaves should perk up. get a 30x magnifier and look at the trichomes on your plants buds, if they are foggy and turning auburn you are almost done. Check for movement on the leaves (these are bugs) doubt u have them just good to check.

Plant looks healthy to me man keep up the good work. Maybe next time try trining with LST for a higher yield?

Other than that it looks healthy man, you should see entire fan leaves turn brown and look like its dying, but its not dying its fine.

    +rep for the awesome plant!

  3. Thanks for the feedback. Any idea where I can get a 40x magnifier? And it's near the end I'm hoping to harvest in a week or two and grab some clones from it.

  4. Umm, other thaan amazon, I would check anywhere that has jewelry accessories (jewelry shops) or your local hydro shop should have them. a loop should be cheap on amazon.

  5. Thanks ill check hydro shop. What is this LST you mention for higher yield?

  6. its when you bend down the plant in veg stage, this makes it easy for the plant to shoot nutrients up the main stem. allowing it to produce much much more.

Look @ this post I made about LSTing plants. you chop them at the 4th nodes so the dont grow up, after you have 4-6 stems then u pin them down and once they reach the edge of your container you let them shoot up and get MUCH bigger and more cola's. for instance your plant has 1 main cola in the center. the link up there shows my plant with 6 main colas due to LST.

    worth looking at

  7. That's awesome good pics to I'm def going to be trying that. And I just found a 30x magnifier on amazon for .01$ ha. You need a pretty big pot for the LST idea I take it.

  8. I use 5 gallons they are cylidrical ideal for veg root development, and they are deep allowing me to get 5 ft monsters. and na you can LST in a 2 gal but its better the bigger you go
