Need Experienced Advice

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs & Bubblers' started by BethDonor, Aug 26, 2012.

  1. The daily driver right now is a 28" (Might be 26 or 30, don't remember but it's around there) SYN triple showerhead. It does the trick for now, but I want to take the next step.

I went into the local head shops in my area and so far the front runner is a Legacy with an inline perc, to a circle perc, to a glycerin coil, and that Illadelph ash catcher with two chambers.

What I want is simple. I just want the most intense and effective hit you can get. Percolation and filtration is very important. If it wasn't, then I could easily get a 6 foot acrylic. I want a tool, not a piece of art. I do not care about heady or worked pieces. I want the scientifically best piece I can buy. Budget is also not a concern. I don't want the best 300 dollar piece you can get, I want the best piece you can get, according to my preferences. Size or volume is also important. Fat rips is the preferred style of smoking.

I would love to hear what someone who has lots experience with high end and large glass thinks. I would greatly appreciate suggestions and advice.

I would also like to hear from someone that has lots of experience with DIFFERENT types of percs, not someone who's got 20 pieces with tree percs. Although all input will be appreciated.

Any input on the glycerin coil would be awesome.

    Thanks!

  2. EDIT: Budget isn't a concern as long as it's under $1500

  3. Your best bet iwould probably either be a Sovereignty or a Mobius.

Personally I would go for a SG Peyote Pillar. They cost about 1200 dollars, but from what I've heard they provide a great flavor with awesome diffusion and they look absolutely gorgeous when you milk it.

They are not going to provide you the smoothest hit out there though...stem/8 all day

Edit: or stem/12 if you can even find one

  5. Dude I think all the double chamber name brand tubes will good, it depends on what you like tho...
    You can get
    sov stem/8
    toro circ/circ or 7/13

Just go on *** and if you like something buy it haha

but I already heard the syn showerheads are smooth as fuck, and you have 3...so you have a triple chamber tube...Im assuming that tube has to be damn smoooth

  6. Ya, I know thats what I said "awesome diffusion" and not the best diffusion. :p

Probably the only reason I didn't say a stem8 or stem12 is because they're a little harder to find and I still prefer the way a pillar milks, but pretty much any SG piece is a great pickup.

That I will agree with lol

  8. It sounds like you are wanting something that can stack some bubbles up. I would recommend anything gridded to you.

I will jump on the SG band wagon with the rest of these guys. I used to own a stem/8 (sold it 4 months ago) and it was a killer piece for $500, I can only imagine how nice stem/12s and pillars hit. I also like SG because they retain a great deal of their original value. If the time ever comes when you grow tired of an SG or need to sell it to free up cash, you can get nearly all of your initial investment back, which is awesome.

I would pick up a SG King Stemline with a nice gridded ashcatcher (like a 2012bc). This is just my opinion but after 2 gridded percs, I find that any additional diffusion is kind of redundant. If you snagged this kind of setup, I think you would be more than happy with the diffusion you get and you could still hold on to almost 2/3 of your budget.

I have a dave goldstein fritted disk in the mail, I wish I could tell you how its hit, because it stacks bubbles like crazy, but that might be another avenue to explore.

How do you guys think the glass in the above quoted section would compare to my SYN triple showerhead? This is my biggest criteria I guess. I don't want a similar piece, I want one that blows my SYN out of the water.

  10. Dude idk you have a killer setup, maybe get a bc ashcatcher?

  11. Sg all the way.

If you want fat, smooth rips just throw on multiple ash catchers. I have a 14" SYN Triple nested shower head myself and it's so bottom heavy I have fit 6 ash catchers on it before. I will cash whole bowls it one hit with ease many times. My setup is: SYN tripled shower head bong, kind creations glycerine attachment, TORO 8 arm trash catcher, SYN 30 slit shower head AC, Hidden Glass 20 slit shower head AC, Migrant down stem (Sovereignty gridded 3.75" down stem) to mini inline 6 slit AC, to MCFinn's carbon adapter. Smoothest hits ever, while still as fat as rips as possible. Seriously tho, just get several high end ash catchers or pre coolers, just to add area space to your bong. The joints never break if handled properly.

But if you really want a new bong, I have a mobius stereo matrix and that is very nice as well, but not good for fat rips, trust me. It doesn't diffuse nearly as well as your syn triple shower head.Obviously I Know, I own both. I have had my eye on the Kind Creations triple oil drum perc tube. Can find it on aqua lab.

  13. can we see some videos of this:p

  14. Ya, absolutely. Give me a few minutes it's time to get.........stoned!!!!!!

  15. can't waitP

  16. If your looking for functionality i don't think anything can beat a 2012BC netline to tophat, a sovereignty peyote pillar perc, or a mobius stereo matrix. If i had a budget as big as yours id definitely without a doubt go with one of those three pieces. You could also check out toro and see what they have to offer. i would go with a shrub or a micro.

  17. i was wondering on h20 tech whats the difference between the different "king stemlines with up grid" they all seem to be the same but are numbered 1 to 20, like king stemline with upgrid #1, #2, #3 etc. and why are some like the #20, 9, and 11 more popular (those ones are currently out of stock)? Also what is the up grid they are refering to because the "king stemline with up" no grid in the name cost $360 instead of $420 like the rest?
