need computer help - defragging

    i'm trying to run disk defragmenter but i get this message that says

    disc defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: (C:).
    Please run Chkdsk /f.

    what is this?

    what do i do?

    go to start > run

    type in CMD

    when the command prompt comes up, type in:

    replace the volume name "f:" with the disk you want to do a checkdisk on.

    You can also just go into MY COMPUTER > RIGHT CLICK ON THE DRIVE YOU WANT TO DEFRAG > CLICK PROPERTIES > CLICK TOOLS >

    there will be defrag and scandisk tools.
