Alright guys just got a couple seeds germinated i put soil in my cup and watered it then let it drain i put the seed in just below the surface. now do i water it again or do i wait?
u should have moistened the soil b4 u put the seeds in and waited about 20-30minutes for the extra water to run out but dont water them again when u put the seeds in let the soil be unless it gettin really dry
i think i got what your saying but the word phrasing wasnt the best but anyway i did moisten it i think i got everything. thanks though.
I think it depends on how wet the soil still is. if the soil is still damp, then you don't need to water anymore. But if it's dry to the touch, you might want to add a little more water. Check to see how the seed is germinating and then make your decision based on whether it need more water. Right now, I'd just be afraid that you're going to soak your seeds too much - and that's not a good thing either. You can always water more, but it's harder to take water away once you have too much in the cup.
Keep the soil moist, but not sloppy wet, until it pops through the soil. Once it sprouts, water thoroughly when you do water and then none at all until the soil dries out a bit. Do not keep the soil for a sprout or plant constantly moist, that will stunt root growth, kill beneficial microbes in the soil, and/or promote root rot.
