Hey everyone, first here's the specs of my current design: 85cm height, 60cm width, 45cm depth (so that's roughly a 1.5 square feet base and 8 cubic feet total). In there I'll have 8x 25w CFLs producing a total of around 12,000lumens. I'm hoping to have 2x LST plants growing in here, in 3gallon pots. By the way, is 2x LST plants alright for that amount of space? The only thing I haven't got figured out yet is the ventilation. I know I'll have 2x 50cfm PC fan exhausts, pulling through 2x DIY carbon filters. My problem is the intake and the circulation. I'm thinking of two possibilities: 1) 2x 30cfm pc fans, one acting as an active intake and the other opposite it and facing it, blowing air towards the intake, creating a sort-of vortex to help with air circulation; or 2) just cut a big hole and have passive intake, in which case what do I do about air circulation? I don't really have the space to have an oscillating fan, of course. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, jable
Id probably use stronger fans then that and if you use a passive intake it will probably make the carbon filters meaningless unless your outtake fans are powerful enough to be sucking out more air then your intake allows so therefore creating a vacum. The problem with that is it will create air currents and your cabitnet will have areas where fresh flow of air is neglected so you will need a circulation fan inside the cabinet such as a small oscilating desk fan.
