Need advice saving plants

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Cmegrow, Nov 21, 2018.

  1. So have a DWC grow that is doing amazing. Have some soil plants that I overwatered and it’s been literally weeks I’ve been trying to let them dry out and no matter what the soil seems to stay wet. I have a dehumidifier 35% humidity and fans. I have cut holes all around the pots. I’m just trying to save them. Any advice would be so greatly appreciated. I have been letting them rest under some T5’s. I also have some hempys I over watered to same thing can’t get them to dry out. I don’t water the top I have a hose I just send water to the bottom of the hempys. Main problem is the solid pots though. Please help. I cut the yellow dead leaves off they where gone and the last pic is my dwc and it’s amazing wish I would have done them all like that.

  2. I suppose if you think they are too wet than add a small space heater into the room on low to help the situation by increasing the overall temperature, assuming it not too high.

  3. you need more light & air flow my friend. this will speed up the growing process. with T5 lighting, your plants are growing very slow and not using much water. do not feed until your plants are larger. this will slow growth instead of speeding it up.

  5. Looks like a lack of nutrients to me, what nutes and at what strength are you using?

  6. Thanks guys yea they are normally growing under 2 600 leds in a 4x4 tent I’ve got them under t5 to rest I had read that letting them recover under less light can help. I use general hydroponics trio at quarter recommended dose but they haven’t had any nutrients since I overwatered them because I’m trying to prevent root rot and didn’t want to add more water. They have been stuck like this for at least 3 weeks. Which is very frustrating I know y’all can relate to that feeling lol. Thanks again. I used an organic soil and it just holds onto water like nothin I’ve ever seen. I even transplanted one into perlite just to try and dry it out. Idk if they ever do dry out I will be so afraid to even water them

  7. Plants need more than t5 to get them to take off and dry out quicker. They are not drinking because of low lighting and cold temps my guess

  8. Picture 4 and 5 .
Doesn't look like the plants are getting enough light .
My plants have ten times the leaf's your plants have ..
The fabric grow bags are the only way to go

  9. Ok the lack of leaves is because they all died. I just removed them when they shriveled to nothing. They have been under led plenty of light. However when they became sick I just moved them out to rest when I made this post. The last pic is the room they where all in and my DWC thrived under the same conditions and same age. The soil just wouldn’t dry out and I believe root rot got them. But I’m trying to bring them back because the new growth looks as if it will not completely die. Once I got them stable and asked y’all opinion on getting the soil dry I was going to move them back into the led chamber. I should have posted pics before I took the dead leaves off so y’all could see.here is a pic before it got sick and then one of the beginning symptoms that resulted in the sickness off all now.

  10. Temp is 75-80 humidity 40%

  11. Honestly I can advise you , I grow in a Aeroponic systems because I sucked growing weed in compost .
Some of my compost failures were because I grew in 5 gallon plastic buckets with million holes drilled into the bucket .
5 gallons bucket is enough for the roots and dirt/compost .
    . .

You might consider this is trans planting the sick plants into a grow medium with tons of drainage .
Might even try a bubbler bucket....

    That's allot of leaf's , but I have done worse .

    Best of luck

  13. Thanks for the kind words my friend .

I have 5 or six aeroponic DWC systems operating all at the same time .
I cant help to ask why you haven't switched or gone 100% DWC ?

To me that would solve your problem and it seems that's the kind of grow system that you are successful with .

    Party on ...

  14. Whats your temps? And is the perlite even through out the soil?

  15. I wanted to do a soil grow. Because I wasn’t confident with DWC because I had never gone straight hydro but it’s been the best experience I’ve ever had. So from now on I’ll stick with DWC and I’m going to play with hempy buckets. But I’m still going to fight to keep these ladies alive in the soil and bring them back.

  16. 75f and 40%..... straight organic soil for the problem plants

  18. Yes, that’s cold damage. The damaged leaves probably won’t recover but the others should be fine as long as they are put in the right conditions again.
