Sup GC, I needed to see if i could get some advice from you bladez. Got a buddy who is going to get a grow tent http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lighthouse-Hydro-Mylar-Hydroponic-Grow-Tents-Reflective-Growing-Room-/281167492750?pt=US_Hydroponics&var=&hash=item4176e3768e roughly 36X20X60 Is this tent selection a good choice for a 250 hps no cool tube just reg.For lets say maybe 3 plants? For ventilation he was debating on inline fan or inline ductfan. He noticed the inline duct ones have way less CFM say 250 vs 400 CFM. but cost way less. He was thinking of getting http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-6-8-10-12-Inline-Exhaust-Fan-Blower-Carbon-Filter-Scrubber-Combo-Hydroponic-/400405480421?pt=US_Hydroponics&var=&hash=item5d3a06c3e5 6 inch one........ What we be recommended for a tent that size for the amount of plants??? Would the inline duct fan due or is it better to go with other?? Thanks
A tent this size would probably be ok with a 250 but I think a 400 would be better. The smaller cheaper fan is a booster fan. I spent the extra money on mine and got the exhaust fan, it last longer works better and is quieter. When I was growing I used some ducting and had the air pick up directly over the light to suck out more heat. Peace
Thanks hillbilly. I already have the 250 Hps so it will have to do. Did some test runs and temps get up to 95 on a bad day but I'm only using a 120mm PC fan which I think is like 100 cfm Max. It lowers temp bout 5 degrees. So I'm assuming a 6 inch inline fan with 400 cfm will lower temps to around 75. My question is how loud is this fan? Says they are 52db this damn PC fan is loudddddd and is only 25db Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
If you want to lower your temps, you should get a cool tube like this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-COOLTUBE-AIR-COOLED-GROW-LIGHT-REFLECTOR-COOL-TUBE-HOOD-WING-SUN-hps-digital-/400300121972?pt=US_Hydroponics&hash=item5d33bf1f74 It will pull the heat directly from the source. I would go with a six inch fan like the one you showed, but I would not buy that carbon filter shown on that ebay auction. I would advise to get a decent six inch fan from someone like HTG and go out and get a Phresh Filter for your carbon filter. You will not be disapointed. Then you can get a fan speed controller for that fan and just tone it down so it will be about as quiet at that 120 mm fan that you are using. Growing two plants in that space would be ideal since they should spread out enough to where they fill the entire canopy.
